Orange Visiting Nurses Association
Hi everyone, we are at the pinnacle of summer. Some of us are looking forward to the cooling temperatures of
fall, some of us are hanging on to the last sun rays of the season. We are meteorologically in the midst of the
hurricane season. SO BE PREPARED ! Seems silly to go over this annually, but it is SO important. Take a few
moments to check your flashlights and batteries. If you have a well, make sure you have plenty of water on hand
as power outages can last for days. Plan ahead, if there are trees that are worrisome on your property, call
someone to trim or remove them. I know it is costly, but it is much cheaper than a repair on your home or an
injury. We all tend to run to the stores to pick up food prior to the storm. Make sure you make smart choices.
Try to avoid foods that need to be frozen or refrigerated, as you can lose them during a power outage. Think
PB & J, not porterhouse steaks. We can get those after the power comes back on to celebrate !
Most importantly, Stay safe !
Thank You
Terri
