2 WELCOME TO ST. JOHN PAUL II PARISH | BIENVENIDOS A LA PARROQUIA DE SAN JUAN PABLO II

Advent is always an exciting time at school. The students

prepare for Christmas with Advent wreaths services, Christ-

mas Bible stories, donations to the Parish Food Pantry,

decorating the rooms and halls, singing in the Christmas

Concert, and walking in the Posada. This year we will miss

all of these traditions.

I want to suggest an activity to PREPARE YE THE WAY for

Jesus in your home. Many of us set up the Nativity Set at the

beginning of Advent. The manger is left empty until Christ-

mas Morning. Some of the teachers at SJP 2 School ask the

students to prepare the manger for the Baby Jesus.

I am asking you to prepare a manger for the Baby Jesus with

your family. You can create a manger out of a small box or a

shoe box for large families. Decorate and put it in a special

prayerful place in your home. When someone in your family

does something nice for someone or offers a prayer for

someone, you can put a piece of straw in the manger. This

straw can be shredded paper or something you have laying

around the house.

The GOAL is to create a soft bed for the BABY JESUS with

your kind acts and prayers for others. On Christmas

Morning, look at the manger and share some of the kindness

you showed during the Advent Season. Then think about

continuing these acts throughout the New Year.

On behalf of the Faculty and Staff of St. John Paul II Catholic

School, I want to wish you a Blessed Advent, a Merry

Christmas and a Happy New Year!

El Adviento es siempre un momento emocionante en la

escuela. Los estudiantes se preparan para la Navidad con

servicios de coronas de Adviento, historias bíblicas navide-

ñas, donaciones a la Despensa de Alimentos de la Parroquia,

decorando los salones y pasillos, cantando en el Concierto

de Navidad y caminando en la Posada. Este año extrañare-

mos todas estas tradiciones.

Quiero proponer una actividad para PREPARAR EL CAMINO

de Jesús en su casa. Muchos de nosotros montamos El

Pesebre al comienzo del Adviento. El pesebre se deja vacío

hasta la mañana de Navidad. Algunos de los maestros de la

Escuela SJP II piden a los estudiantes que preparen al pese-

bre para el Niño Jesús.

Les pido que preparen un pesebre para el Niño Jesús con su

familia. Pueden crearlo usando una caja pequeña o una caja

de zapatos para familias numerosas. Decore y colóquelo en

un lugar especial de oración en su hogar. Cuando alguien de

tu familia hace algo bueno por alguien u ofrece una oración

por alguien, puedes poner un pedazo de paja en el pesebre.

Esta paja puede ser papel rallado o algo que tienes por la

casa.

EL OBJETIVO es crear una cama suave para el BEBÉ JESÚS

con tus amables actos y oraciones por los demás. En la

mañana de Navidad, mira el pesebre y comparte parte de

la amabilidad que mostraste durante la temporada de

dviento. Luego piensa en continuar estos actos durante

todo el Año Nuevo.

5-6 p.m. and Saturdays from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Two

priests (English � Spanish) will be hearing confes-

sions at those times during all of December. Please

plan ahead to celebrate this sacrament early and

follow all safe distancing procedures.
