From Ms Munro’s Desk

Yesterday you would have all received a note home providing information regarding COVID-19. The NSW Department of Health has issued a number of recommendations to “flatten the curve”. These recommendations are based around “social distancing” and have an impact on events organised for students.

There have been cancellations of events and an alteration in how we may celebrate successes and join as groups. It is important to remember that our core business of educating your child is still occurring in all classrooms. We appreciate your understanding of any upcoming changes as information is provided to principals from the Department of Education daily. These are being communicated with the school community as appropriate.

To increase effectiveness of the ‘social distance strategy’, we encourage parents and carers to remain outside the school gates at drop off and pick up times. Arrangements with children can be made to meet them at an agreed location, such as the new parking zone in Oak Street or the Hayshed near Birch Ave. Teachers monitor students at the conclusion of the school day for safety. Supervision of students starts at 8.30am in the playground.

Annie Munro Quote: “It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.” - Aristotle.

Good Hygiene Maintaining good hygiene standards is an important way to reduce the risk of acquiring and spreading respiratory infections. We ask parents and caregivers to promote good hygiene including handwashing with soap.

Together with good cough etiquette, handwashing is the single most effective way to reduce the spread of germs that cause respiratory disease.
