An enthusiastic opening. Lovely singing, nice part-singing and dynamic contrast. Lovely movements – very fluid and appropriate to the lyrics. I like how your movements supported the lyrics, not detracted from them. OH WOW! – spine-tingling solo – well done young man! Well supported by the group. Thank you for a wonderful performance. Gloucester Public School Choir delivers a moving performance at the Taree & District Eisteddfod

Once again, and for eight years in a row, Gloucester Public School Choir has been awarded first place at the 2019 Taree & District Eisteddfod. Students performed a medley of songs from the famous Les Miserables stage show. Comments from the adjudicator included the following –

NAIDOC Day 2019 – Wednesday 26th June 2019 Each student will receive lunch on the day. Students can purchase recess from the canteen as per normal. An order form is again in this newsletter for additional sausage sandwiches on NAIDOC Day. The school will pay for each student to receive a sausage on a bun, drink and a treat on the day. If your child wishes to have an additional sausage sandwich, then you will need to complete the order form and send it to school with $3.00 by tomorrow Wednesday 19th June. Thank you! Previous newsletters can be found on the school website and our SkoolBag App. Printed additional order forms can also be asked for at the school admin office.

CONGRATULATIONS I am so very proud of all our recent achievements, on the sporting fields, at community events, competitions and within our classrooms. If you have read our last few newsletters and our App, you will have noticed all the great things our students and staff are doing. Gloucester Public School is a great school with fabulous teachers and wonderful students. Thank you to all the parents/carers who support our ventures. We could not do it without you. Have you seen our new signs?

Yours in Education - Leanne Wakefield, Principal

Year 7 in 2020 at GHS For those parents planning to send their child to Gloucester High School in 2020, you should have received an application to enrol in the post in the last week. Please ensure you read this package carefully and return it to the high school by the due date. If you require any information, please feel free to contact the high school. Of course, we will also attempt to assist you with any questions you may have regarding this process. Rod Maggs Assistant Principal – Stage 3 PSSA Basketball Competition – Round 2 Our PSSA Boys’ basketball team were pumped as they walked down to the Recreation Centre last Tuesday for their first game of the PSSA competition. The boys had a bye for Round 1 so this was to be their first outing as a team. With an audience comprising of the girls’ netball teams and a scattering of parents, the nerves were high. The boys took the court with confidence and played a magnificent first half with accurate passing and good communication. Sam showed his confidence scoring the first points for the game, using his height and strength to his advantage. Rhys, Shannon and Brady also added to the scoring frenzy, becoming more accurate in the second half. Jake and Harvey were aggressive in defence despite this being their first ever game of basketball. Riley and Jackson took multiple rebounds and made it really difficult for Wingham to get shots at the goal. Well done to the team who made their coaches proud, winning 23-19. A big thank you to Scott Chester and Rob Llewellyn for umpiring and Mrs Atkins for scoring the match. Team members: Jackson Moore, Rhys Summerville, Jake Coombes, Shannon Atkins, Brady Johnston, Harvey Willis, Sam Collie, Riley Marsh Emily Bosworth and Felicity Willis PSSA Basketball Co-ordinators

PSSA Netball Competition – Round 3 Last Tuesday, our enthusiastic netball players walked down to the netball courts for their second game of the PSSA competition. The girls began steadily, using a number of the set game plays taught by Mrs Maslen in training over the past few weeks. Wingham drew ahead slightly, dominating in the circle with a tall and accurate goal shooter. There was only a few goals between the two teams throughout the whole game, with all the girls playing well. Despite a determined effort, the girls were unable to claw their way back, losing 17-21. A big thank you to Mrs Maslen for umpiring and Mrs Kearney for scoring the match. Team members; Lilli Zycki, Mia Hardy, Isabella Gunn, Bianca Jackson, Ruby Tonks, Kaitlyn Beggs, Emily Beggs, Emma Bignell and Olivia Kearney. Loryn Bratfield and Felicity Willis PSSA Netball Co-ordinators
