Executive Summary

1st open-BDA Hadoop Summit 2014, organized by Innovative Management Services (www.innovative-management.org) was held in Karachi, Pakistan on 18th & 19th November 2014.

The Program included a Breakfast Session with a theme “Big Data Pakistan” on 18th November at Marriott Hotel Ambassador Hall, Karachi.

Theme for the Summit was “Hadoop in Enterprise Architechture” held on 18th November at Marriott Hotel Marquee, Karachi.

AsAs part of the Summit Program, three focused sessions on Business Value with Big Data & Hadoop, Data Driven Business & Hadoop Deployement & Operations were also lined up. A Hands-on Training Session was held in conjunction with the Summit to acquire preliminary and state-of-the-art knowledge about the Big Data & Hadoop Ecosystem on 19th November at Microsoft Innovation Center, Karachi.

In the summit, leading experts of Apache Hadoop & Big Data from around the globe shared best practices of Hadoop & Big Data in the Business Ecosystem while offering business perspective to the CIOs, IT Heads, BI Heads, Developers, Architects, Administrators, Data Analysts, Data Scientists and the Vendor Community.

The theme of 1st Open-BDA Summit 2014 was “Hadoop in Enterprise Architecture”, covering three focused sessions on Business Value with Big Data & Hadoop, Data Driven Business & Hadoop Deployment & Operations.

A Training Session was offered in conjunction with the Summit to intermediate users of BDA who are working or interested in working with Big Data to extract more business sense and to learn how to beef up their skillsets or to spread the skills within their organization. Session was tailored to acquire preliminary and state-of-the-art knowledge about Big Data & Hadoop Ecosystem from Microsoft platform, configuring a limited-scale enterprise setup and particularly use Hadoop ecosystem to make query execution on big data more efficient.
