Newsletter Week 10 Term 3 18 September 2018 Key Dates, Term 3 Dear Parents, Children and Friends, ONLINE SAFETY DAY We recently had an Online Safety Day to help support our students in remaining safe online. Years 4-6 participated in a student workshop about digital footprints and keeping their information private. Staff from St Mary’s and JPC joined our staff for a teacher workshop where we learned about the latest trends in child online activity. In the evening, parents from the three schools participated in an enlightening session about the challenges facing families in the use of technology by children. They were provided with a number of resources to help combat common issues and the parents who attended found it to be a very informative evening. YEAR 6 CAMP Our Year 6 students, along with Miss Miles, Mrs Gregory and Mr Foy, our parent helper, returned on Friday evening from five days in Perth for camp. They participated in a huge range of challenging activities and have come back tired, but happy to have shared this special experience with their classmates. They have made many happy memories! INTERSCHOOL ATHLETICS CARNIVAL Today, a number of our students have been competing in the Interschool Athletics Carnival. All reports so far have been positive and the students are demonstrating excellent sportsmanship and team work. Thank you to Miss Sturtridge for co-ordinating this event for our students and ensuring they are well prepared. WILL YOU BE IN HERE IN 2019? We are beginning to make plans for 2019, so if your family will be leaving the school between now and the end of the year, please let the office know in writing, as soon as possible. This will allow us to make staffing and enrolment decisions over the coming months. Farmers’ Day This Friday we are having a fundraiser for drought relief. We believe it is important to support other regional communities in times of need, so children are invited to come to school dressed as a farmer, a farm animal, or just in free dress, in exchange for a gold coin donation. The P & F will also be cooking a lunch and orders and payment need to be made by Thursday, as no late orders can be taken. The canteen will not be operating that day.
