PRESIDENT’S MESSAGEPRESIDENT’S MESSAGEPRESIDENT’S MESSAGEPRESIDENT’S MESSAGE The 2012 season got off to a great start with about eighty members gathering at the Earl Grey Golf Club for the coffee party. The weather was ideal for us to enjoy the beautiful setting and it set the tone for a very animated reconnection with friends. Several members brought along guests and we are pleased to welcome new members to the club – Mary Brownless, Alana Harrison, Roselind Jordoin, Hairong Wang, Marilyn Wiggins, Cathy Wilson and Lois Wride. Please introduce yourself to them when your paths cross and help them feel at home in the club. The weather favoured us yet again as we enjoyed a family day at Champion Park. Not too many members joined us on this occasion but the total party numbered forty-five. Those who participated found it most interesting and a great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon! Regular club activities are now in full swing with special events in October being the Stage West outing, Oktoberfest dinner-dance and the Fashion Show. In November, there is Opera brunch and of course December brings the Christmas dinner and dance – hope to see you all there. Please watch the monthly reminders for details of other activities and consider joining in. It is always nice to meet people who are not in your usual activity groups. Please contact the event organizer if you would like help with transportation and she will try to match you with another participant from your neighbourhood. Special thanks go to our social coordinators, Liz Kopp and Anna Maier, for an absolutely outstanding job organizing our functions, and to those members who organize the various activity groups. Sue Shrive

PAST PRESIDENT’S MESSAGEPAST PRESIDENT’S MESSAGEPAST PRESIDENT’S MESSAGEPAST PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE The Coffee Party was a great success this year with so many members turning out to enjoy the morning at The Earl Grey Golf Club. The room was buzzing as we all re-connected after a beautiful summer. Recently, I have sent get well cards to Joan Benetti for husband John, to Sharon Crowle and to Helle Krav. We all wish them a speedy recovery. A sympathy card was sent to Pat and Ray Stauffer on the passing of Ray’s brother. Condolences were sent to Zella Consay, an ex member whom many will remember on the passing of her husband Al in Kelowna. Our thoughts are with both the Stauffer and the Consay families. I am looking forward to the Fashion Show on the 25th…have you bought your tickets yet? Maureen Hutton
