Thank you to all of you who voted in the Part Time Officer Exec elections - meet your brand new exec committee. (Right)

Part Time Exec officers are just that - they are BU students that now work with SUBU alongside their studies. They have weekly meetings with the four full time officers (Louise, Murray, Ruby and Sophie) to decide upon the direction that SUBU should take, what campaigns we should run, or what student issues need attention.

SUBU Volunteering thehub Goes Global is back! It’s a 10 day overseas volunteer trip to Bulgaria in July 2013. Activities we have done over the years include improving the garden, painting murals, decorating bedrooms, taking the disabled children for walks, face painting, organising games and activities.

Cost is £995 not including flights and uk airport transfers. Previous volunteer, Olivia Easton said: “It was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. It was a challenge, but I learnt a lot about myself and met some incredible people.”

Water is something we all take for granted, and it’s likely that when you buy a bottle from the Student Shop, you

don’t think about the brand. So next time you browse the refrigerator, look at the bottom shelf and pick up One Water. One Water is priced 15p lower than Evian and Volvic, (which deliberately cost a little more to subsidise One Water.) 100%

of their profits go towards funding water wells in Africa, so that means that every time you spend 45p on what you just think is an ordinary bottle of water, you’re helping someone

in the developing world get access to fresh, clean water.

Good deed of the day = accomplished!

Speak Week (12th – 16th Nov) is the time for student reps chance to show off everything they do!Student Reps are the mouthpiece for all student issues – do you know who yours is? Ask your course tutor if not.

It’s also your chance to have your say on matters that affect your education both locally and nationally.

Issues highlighted during the week will include: Hidden course costs, principles of good feedback, and unpaid placements.

We will be asking you to have your say on all of these issues, so make sure you get involved with our interactive booths, and fill in the SOS (Student Opinion Survey) in the atrium all week.
