This is always one of our most enjoyable school events – and last Friday night was no exception. Thanks to Miss Nyman and our teams - Secret Weapon and Ultra Sparks, for their wonderful organisation. Also a big thank you to the parents and teachers who helped in some way. It is always amazing how quickly the rooms are transformed! Grade 3/4 Camp Yesterday children in grades 3/4 left for camp as part of their unit of work on ‘Fleeting Through History’. The students will spend three days and two nights at Camp Curumbene in Bendigo. Although it is bound to be a bit chilly, it is an excellent camp, with a variety of activities on offer. On the way the campers stopped at the Central Deborah Gold Mine. The mine provided the chance to explore the hidden underground tunnels of a real gold mine that operated during the gold rush boom of the 1900s. We hope that you are enjoying the camp updates through Tiqbiz. Education Support Staff Appreciation August is the time that we formally acknowledge the huge contribution the ES staff make to the school team. All staff at our school work together as a team, but ES month is a special opportunity to acknowledge the important contribution that our ES staff make to our overall school community. The roles which our ES staff perform are diverse and include those who work in the front office, those who work with individual students in classrooms, those who take care of the maintenance jobs and those who provide specialist assistance to students with special needs. The one thing they have in common is a desire to support the school and to help our children and our school community. They are very dedicated, hard working individuals who will do whatever it takes to meet the staff and children’s needs. Quite simply we could not operate without these people. So please take the time to stop and say “thank you” to our wonderful ES staff.

    Aerobics Movie Night Well done everyone on your great efforts to support our Aerobics Movie Night. This is

    always one of our most enjoyable school events and last Friday night was no exception.

    Thank you to the families who have taken the time to provide important feedback via the Parent Opinion Survey. Results will be received next term and once discussed with staff and school council, will be filtered back to our community through the newsletter. We still are awaiting the return of twelve surveys. Please note that tomorrow is the final day to

    return your survey to school.

    Parent Opinion Survey - Thanks

    Winter weather has certainly kicked in over the past week, with extremely cold temperatures. However, this did not deter many of our students as they participated in weekend sports such as football, cricket and soccer. It is always nice on a Monday morning to catch up with the kids and hear about how their football team did or how many goals they scored in soccer. What is even better to see, is kids out playing despite the cold. It seems too often these days kids are shut indoors when it may be better for them to be out and about. The more activity the better; something we are keen to promote here at Launch. Of course this does not have to mean sports. Just heading off for a walk, playing in the garden, walking the dog or walking around to see your friends are all good activities and we highly recommend them.
