Introduction And Objective

Finding a misplaced object is a tough task for

everyone and it is still tougher for blind or visually

impaired people who have little knowledge

about their surroundings.

Enabling Blind/visually impaired people to get

easy access to their frequently misplaced/lost

objects.

Fetch ---- A research paper published in late 90s

It was the first in this Area

Motivation

Our project is inspired by the previous two works.

And we also received valuable inputs from a blind person whom we

interviewed at the beginning of the project.

Minutes of the Interview:

1) Mobile app better than separate device.

2) very frequently gets annoyed, if he cant find objects( 5 to 6 times a

day)

3) And he would feel comfortable if the device have an audio input

and talk back facility.

Difference? What is the need to implement something similar!!

Previous works did not target blind people i.e their application was

suited for general public but not blind/visually impaired.

We made use of swipe functions , to make it more user friendly for

them.

Tag functioning

Any query from mobile app is received by Bluetooth module and

then sent to micro-controller.

Microcontroller processes the query and activates the buzzer

accordingly.

Until the tag is searched for, it stays in the standby mode.

RFDUINO

Found a microcontroller that has an inbuilt

Bluetooth module and which is very small.

The RFduino has a Nordic 32 bit ARM Cortex-M0

processor. It still runs the same, simple Arduino

code the UNO runs also run on the RFduino.

It has a wireless module incorporating Nordic’s

nRF51822 SoC.
