Remembrance Day This Friday (10th November) is Remembrance Day. Miss Dunne is working with 3/4D to run this special assembly commencing at 10.30am. All parents and carers are welcome to attend.

P&C Update Canteen News - we’d like to say a very big thank you to Jaime Cathie who has worked tirelessly in the canteen this year, doing a fabulous job. Jaime has paid work lined up for 2018 and as a result will not be able to remain in the role of Canteen Co-ordinator beyond Term 4. We are therefore looking for someone who would be keen to take on Jaime’s role (or a couple of people who would be able to share it). Please see Jaime, Mrs Kessey or Rebecca Harper if you are interested (or if you know someone from outside the school who might be interested). Jaime has kindly offered to do a hand-over and share her knowledge with an incoming Co-ordinator. The canteen provides much of the P&C funds which go towards initiatives such as the above mentioned and it plays an important role in the school life of our students. Thanks again to Jaime for her commitment and hard work this year. We are currently in the process of transitioning our canteen to meet the new guidelines set out by the Department of Education’s Healthy School Canteen strategy. Over time you’ll notice the introduction of more healthy choices on our canteen menu and the removal of some less healthy items. This will be a positive change for our students eating habits! The next P&C meeting will be held Monday 27th November, 6pm in the school’s staffroom. We hope to see you there. Rebecca Harper P&C President

Ten day School Swimming and Water Safety Program. The swimming program is for students who are learning to swim or who have a low level of ability. The program is open for all children in Year 2 and then those students in Years 3 – 6 who cannot swim 50metres confidently, continuously and unaided. Permission notes were sent home to these identified students last week. Lessons commence on Monday the 20th November and finish on Friday the 1st

December. All lessons will be held at the Nabiac Pool and will last for 50 minutes. All students will need to bring with them: a swimming costume, towel and a plastic bag for wet items, all clearly labelled. Sunscreen/Blockout will need to be applied at home every morning before leaving for school. Please return permission notes by Wednesday, 15th November. There is no cost for this program.

Garden Project 3/4D As part of their Garden project, 3/4D is looking for large tins. They would ideally like old 1kg Milo tins or 900gm baby formula tins. They will need 12 tins to complete their project, so if you have any please drop them into the front office, or take them straight to 3/4D. Thank you! Miss Dunne
