McNamara Terminal Food & Beverage Program
Solicitation Process…
• Beginning in December of 2012, Concession & Quality Assurance (CQA) Department began developing the
scope for the next chapter of DTW’s McNamara Terminal Food & Beverage Program.
• In January of 2013, the Airport Authority solicited for a Concessions Consultant to assist in evaluating market
place trends in order to position DTW for the future.
• In July and August of 2013, community outreach and business opportunity forums were conducted to obtain
feedback from industry experts as well as local, regional, and international businesses.
• The outreach and business opportunity forums led to a pool of more than 900 concession industry points of
contact that received and/or were notified of DTW’s McNamara Terminal Multi-Food & Beverage Concession
Opportunity RFP, which was issued on September 5, 2013.
• The RFP included: 15 Food & Beverage locations offered within 8 separate packages to provide 22-26 concepts.
• 45 proposals from 19 different companies encompassing over 108 concepts were received in December of 2013.
