Back to School Nights The week of August 10-14 kicked off the 20220-2021 school year with Back to School events. While the annual back to school night became 3 separate nights that had a new look and involved smaller groups, students were excited as ever to see their friends and prepare to return for a new school year. Individual grades (cohorts) arrived at their assigned times to drop off school supplies, visit the classroom, re-

connect with their new teacher and spend some time socializing with classmates on the playground. HSA

provided the Snowy Bus for each group.

How Can You Help St. Agnes School St. Agnes School has a number of easy ways for families to support the school using money you already spend. If you

shop at Co-op, please save your grocery receipts. For every $100,000 dollars saved, the school is gifted $1000. The school also participates in the Box Tops for Education program. Many of these have gone digital, so there is no longer the hassle of cutting and saving the box tops. Shop-a-roo is another App families are able to sign up for and have a small percent of

their spending return to the school. Finally, the St. Agnes Star Cards Program, begun last fall, includes shopping cards that work the same as cash at a multitude of restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, box stores and even Amazon. E-

cards and physical cards can be purchased to pay for things you would otherwise be buying such as groceries, school supplies, eating out and more. For a list of participating merchants, go to Shop with Scrip. You can set up an account and use only online cards, or you can order physical cards for gifts or spending. Each merchant gives a certain percent ranging

from 2%-20% back to the school. What an easy way to earn funds for St. Agnes! More information will follow from program coordinators Jodi Windhorst and Beth Merrigan and sales after Mass will

resume soon.

Classroom News………... Return to Learning Plan

St. Agnes School rolled out their Return to Learning Plan at a parent meeting held in the gym on Thursday, August 6th. One parent from each family was invited to attend the meeting where details of

the plan were discussed and questions answered.

Like most schools, the plan is centered on 3 things: social distancing, cleaning and sanitizing and face coverings. Social distancing will include cohorting classes, designated entrances with daily health

screenings, staggered dismissal, staggered schedules, multiple lunch periods and numerous classroom distancing strategies.

A focus will be placed on regular handwashing and sanitizing throughout the day along with increased cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting surfaces within the building. Bottle filler fountains were placed on

each level.

The wearing of face coverings will be required for all people within St. Agnes School including students, staff, and outside visitors. Professionals from the Panhandle Public Health District and RWMC have stated that when face coverings are in use, it will be far less likely that entire cohorts

would have to quarantine. So, we will follow the Golden Rule and remember one of God’s greatest commandments: Love they neighbor.

The entire Return to Learning Plan can be viewed on the school website: www.st-agnes-school.com.

Please pray for the health and safety of all within our school as we anxiously return to learning.
