    Your Neighborhood MapA Poster OR iMovie Project

    In House on Mango Street, Sandra Cisneros is a cartographerwho draws us a picture of the people,places, and things she sees in her neighborhood. Now, its your turn!

    This assignment gives you the opportunity to become a cartographer in 1 of two ways: (1) creatinga brief iMovie to show off your neighborhood, or (2) drawing and decoration a poster about

    your neighborhood.

    Option 1: iMovieYour 2 minuteiMovie should: Include the name of your neighborhood, town, or city somewhere in the iMovie, as well as

    your name and class Use the Photo and Video features to include image collages and videos of:

    o your street and surrounding streetso your house and other houses/buildingso landmarks that identify your neighborhoodo any other important feature of your neighborhood

    Use the Music and Recording features over your images and video to include:o Brief descriptions of what the viewer is looking ato Sound clips from your neighborhoodo Want to use text? Click on any video clip or image to include text captions or titles

    Be colorful, artistic, and lovely to watch. Creativity is encouraged!! Show care and attention to detail in the stitching together of images, video, text, and sound.

    Option 2: PosterYour Poster should be:

    Horizontal (for hanging) On the 11 x 17 paper Ms. P gave you Somewhere in the drawing: Identify the NAME of your NEIGHBORHOOD, TOWN, or

Lawns? Hill? Flat ground? Straight streets? Curvy streets? Cul de sacs? Near public transportation? Near a park? Near water? Apartment buildings? Commercial buildings? Shopping areas? Landmark that identifies the neighborhood?
