At the start of August 2020, an additional Software

Joe recently completed a Master of Engineering

Degree - Information & Computing Engineering at

Kings College, Cambridge, UK.

Whilst completing this course, Joe had a Student

Placement at NCG CAM Solutions Ltd during the

holidays for a few years, where Joe proved to be a

perfect fit for our team, so we snapped him up on

completion of his Degree.

Rotation Mode in Project Settings

An option for “Rotation Model” has been added to the

Project Settings.

The Control Options dialog also includes an

additional option when setting the Rotation Model.

When using the Advanced Option to create a

Boundary or Machining Passes, the Rotation Model

can be set as ‘Apply project setting rotation’, ‘Apply

current view rotation’, or ‘None’.

Detect Holes – Smallest Section

The listed Diameter for a hole is now always the size

of the smallest part.

Previously the Diameter of the last section would be

used.

This also affects the default drill size when creating

the Drilling Cycle.

Drilling Holes on Multiple Axis

Compound Drilling Cycles have been added to simplify

the drilling of composite holes and can be used with

the Hole Shapes Database.

Points and Curves from SOLIDWORKS /

Parasolid

NCG CAM now has Add-on CAD Translators available

for CATIA V5 R29 and Siemens NX 1847 to Siemens

NX 1867.

These are Add-on Translators, which are chargeable;

prices are available on request.

Improve Graphics Performance

The graphics in NCG CAM have been rewritten to give

speed improvements to dynamic rotations, particularly

for models that contain extremely large numbers of

triangles.

This will increase the speed of displaying geometry on

screen when it is rotated or translated, etc.

Remove Drilling Data from Drilling Data Folders

The editing of Drilling Data Plans is now consistent

with the editing of Points Plans. The ‘Add Drilling Data’

dialog now works modeless.

Drilling Data plans can now be organised into new

Drilling data folders.

Tapered Barrel cutters are now supported, in

addition to Standard and Tangential Barrel cutters.

✓ First select Barrel as an Advanced Cutter type.

✓ Then select Standard, Tangential or Tapered.

✓ The Tangential and Tapered Barrel cutter must

have a Corner Radius.

✓ Radius; the Tapered Barrel cutter must also

have an Upper Corner Radius.
