Art Philippe Bucaneg2011 09543Archaeo 21.) I think the exhibit is organized well; each floor highlights a specific timeline in Philippine history. Though some of the galleries were closed, the guide at the entrance of the museum shows the outline of the exhibits.2.) I enjoyed touring the whole museum. From floors 1 to 3, the assigned floors for this paper, I think I enjoyed the Lantakas and Bells exhibit the most, along the hallway of Level 3. However, I went on to level 4 due to curiosity. For the whole duration of the tour I enjoyed the exhibit in Hibla ng Lahing Filipino (Philippine Textiles) for its colorful display of Philippine fashion.3.) I think the exhibit I least enjoyed was an exhibit on ancient Philippine burial traditions, in Kaban ng Lahi (Archaeological Treasures), where they showed ancient coffins and burial jars. The display of burial jars, coffins, and weird humanoid heads creeped me out, gave me goosebumps, but nonetheless, it was a great exhibit.4.) My favorite artifact would be the canons and bells, in Lantakas and Bells, along the hallway of Level 3. Im always interested in ancient weaponry, how we innovated on weapons. It stood out for me because of how these long thick cylinders, of somehow simple design, were used in combat and how we had a chance in dealing with other nations.5.) The entire museum is filled with facts and information that its hard to retain everything youve learned. They have a clear way of telling people about the history of the Philippines through the exhibit. The displays, along with their descriptions, do its purpose of telling people the necessary information.
