يم� ح� الر� م�ن� ح الر� الل�ه� م� ب�س

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

ت�ع�ذ� ب�ن�ي إلـ ب�ك� اإل�ي مان� ب�ع د� اك� ت�ر�� أ ه�ي ،

My God, what thinkest You? Will You chastise me

after my faith in You?

إي�اك� ب�ـي ح� ب�ع د� أ�م،ت�ب�ع�ـد�ن�ي

Drive me far away after my love for You?

ت�ك� م� ح ب�ر� جائ�ي ر� ع� م� مأ�

ر�م�ن�ي ت�ح ك� ح� ف ،و�ص�

Deprive me while I hope for Your mercy and forgiveness?

و�ك� ب�ع�ف ت�ي ت�جار� اس م�ع� مأ�

ن�ي؟ ل�م� ت�سForsake me while I seek

sanctuary in Your pardon?

أ�ن ال ك�ر�يم� ك� ه� ل�و�ج ا اش� ح�ي�ـب�ن�ي ،ت�خ�

How could Your generous face disappoint me?!

I wish that I know -

م�ـي أ� ل�د�ت ن�ي و� قاء� ل�لش�

Did my mother bear me for wretchedness?

ب�ت ن�ي؟ ر� ل�ل ع�ناء� مأ�

Did she nurture me for suffering?

ل�م و� ت�ل�د ن�ي ل�م ا ل�ي ت�ه� ف�ب�ـن�ي ،ت�ر�

If such, then I wish that she had not borne me and had

not nurtured me!

أ� ع�ل�م ت� ل�ي ت�ن�ي و�ع�ل ت�ن�ي؟ ج� عاد�ة� الس�

I wish that I had knowledge - Have You appointed me one of

the people of felicity?

وار�ك� و�ج� ب�ك� ر ب�ق� و�ت�ن�ي؟ ص خ�ص�

Have You singled me out for Your nearness and neighbourhood?

ع�ي ن�ي، ب�ذال�ك� ر� ت�ق� ف�ن�ف س�ي ل�ه� ئ�ن� ت�ط م� .و�

Then would my eyes be gladdened, and in that my

soul reach serenity.

ا إلـ Jوه و�ج� د� و� ت�س� ه�ل ه�ي؟ ت�ك� ل�ع�ظ�م� Jة�د ساج� ت ر� خ�

My God, do You blacken faces which fall down in prostration

before Your mightiness?

ت ن�ط�ق� Jة�ن �ل س� أ ر�س� ت�خ وأ�

د�ك� م�ج ع�ل�ى ب�الث�ناء�؟ الل�ت�ك� Do You strike dumb tonguesو�ج�

which speak in laudation of Your glory and majesty?

Rل�وب ق� ع�ل�ى ت�ط ب�ع� وأ�

؟ ب�ت�ك� ح� م� ع�لى ان ط�و�ت

Do You seal hearts which harbor Your love?

ت�ل�ذ�ذ�ت J ماع�ا سأ� Vم ت�ص� و

أ�ف�ي ذ�ك ر�ك� ماع� ب�س�

؟ Do You deafen ears which takeإراد�ت�ك�pleasure in hearing Your

remembrance according to Your will?

ا ع�ت ه� ف� ر� Jا ك�ف�أ� Vغ�ل�ت و

أ�جاء� ر� إل�ي ك� اآلمال�

؟ ت�ك� أ ف� Do You manacle hands whichر�expectations have raised to

You in hope of Your clemency?

ل�ت ع�م� Jدانا �ب أ ت�عاق�ب� وأ�

ب�طاع�ت�ك�Do You punish bodies which

worked to obey You

ف�ي ل�ت ن�ح� ت�ى ح�د�ت�ك� ،م�جاه�

until they grew thin in struggling for You?

ع�ت س� Jال ج� رأ� ت�ع�ذ� ب� و

أ�باد�ت�ك� ع� ف�ي

Do You chastise legs which ran to worship You?

�لـ� إ ع�لى ت�غ ل�ق ال ه�يت�ك� م� ح ر� ب واب�

� أ ـد�يك� و�ح� ،م�

My God, lock not toward those who profess Your Unity the

doors of Your mercy,

ع�ن� تاق�يك� م�ش ج�ب ت�ح و�الي�ت�ك� ؤ ر� م�يل� ج� إل�ى الن�ظ�ر�

and veil not those who yearn for You from looking upon the

vision of Your beauty!

ت�ها ز أ�ع ز� bس ن�ف �لـه�ي إيد�ك� My God, a soul which You،ب�ت�و ح�

has exalted by its professing Your Unity -

ب�م�هان�ة� ت�ذ�لVها ك�ي ف�؟ ران�ك� ه�ج

how will You burn it in the heat of Your fires?

ع�لى د� ان ع�ق� bير م� و�ض�د�ت�ك� و� My God, a heart which hasم�

been knotted by its love for You

ة� ار� ر� ب�ح� ه� ر�ق� ت�ح ك�ي ف�؟ ن�يران�ك�

how will You burn it in the heat of Your fires?

ل�يم� � أ م�ن ن�ي ر ج�

أ� �لـه�ي إط�ك� خ� س� و�ع�ظ�يم� ب�ك� ،غ�ض�

My God, give me sanctuary from Your painful wrath and

Your mighty anger!

ن�ان� م� يا ن�ان� ح� ،يا

O All-loving, O All-kind!

من� ح ر� يا يم� ح� ر� ،يا

O Compassionate, O Merciful!

ار� ه� ق� يا ب�ار� ج� ،يا

O Compeller, O Subduer!

ت�ار� س� يا ار� غ�ف� ،يا

O All-forgiver, O All-covering!

ن م� ت�ك� م� ح ب�ر� ـن�ي ن�ج�الن�ار� ،ع�ذاب�

Deliver me through Your mercy from the

chastisement of the Fire

ال عار� ة� يح� ،و�ف�ض�

and the disgrace of shame

ن� م� يار� خاأل� تاز� ام إذ�ا

رار� ش،األ�

when the good are set apart from the evil,

و�هال�ت� ، وال� حاأل� و�حال�ت�

األ�ه وال�forms are transformed,

terrors terrify,

  ب�ع�د� و� ، ن�ون� س� ال م�ح ب� ر� و�ق�يئ�ون� ،ال م�س�

the good-doers are brought near, the evildoers taken

far,

ما Rس ن�ف Vك�ل ـي�ت و�و�ف�ي�ظ ل�م�ون� ال و�ه�م ب�ت ك�س�

and every soul is paid in full what it has earned, and

they shall not be wronged
