Setting Exclusion Criteria(I)

I. Exclusion Criteria

• These exclusion criteria are minimum distance limits from specific land uses and places of interest

• Potential landfill sites should comply with all the exclusion criteria in order to proceed to the multi-criteria analysis otherwise they are excluded

• The software provides a list of 15 exclusion criteria but the user can add or remove one or more criteria

The limit distance below which the examined area is excluded

Criterion ID from X1 – X15

Exclusion criteria are distances from specific land use or place of interest

WEIGHTING the Criteria

Setting Exclusion Criteria(I)

II. Multi-criteria Analysis• 5 Group criteria with the corresponding sub-criteria (48 in total)

• Weighting of Group and sub-criteria - determining the importance of each group and each sub-criterion (through the use of questionaire to ++) Weighting factors are the same for all examined areas.

• The evaluation of the examined areas is based on a 1 to 10 scale (10 being the maximum value) of the predetermined sub-criteria

• Calculation of the Q/P/W values

Group Criteria (5) Sub-criteria (48)

Hydrogeological criteria (Group A) 15 sub-criteria A1 to A15

Land - Planning criteria (Group B) 16 sub-criteria B1 to B16

W(ij)= [%weight of Group criterion (i) * weight of Sub-criterion(ij)]/10000

P(A4) = 3 * Q(A4) = 3 * 0,7 = 2,1

Q(A4) = {max[subcriterion (A4)] – min[subcriterion (A4)] }/10, = (10 – 3)/10 = 0,7

Q/P/W values

Example of W(A4) calculation

Weight of Group A criterion = 30%

Weight of Sub-criterion A4 = 5%

W(A4)= { 30%* 5% } / 10000=0.015
