Is to train workers in and expose them to technology in support of mission and ministry in Lutheran congregations and schools

• Our first calling to those we serve is to share Jesus Christ as our Savior.

• Provides on-line, three-credit, graduate-level, technology courses for principals and teachers of Lutheran schools.

• Now offers a MS in Education –Educational Technology

• LCMS educators are able to do this Masters for about 1/3 the normal cost.

Scholarships• Due to a financial agreement we have

with CUW, we are able to continue to roll over our scholarships.

• We currently have around $100,000 in scholarship money set aside.

• We do not use this money for operational costs.

Operational Costs

• Districts– Sliding scale based on number of

schools in the district– We ask them to support the program

for three years– We ask for $100/school with a cap of

50 schools, or $5000– Districts are then grandfathered in ….

Operational Costs

• Schools– Current membership costs:

• $350.00 for schools in member Districts.• $550.00 for schools in non-member

Districts.– Schools who are members of the

Lutheran School Portal, LEA, or ALSS, may deduct $50.00 from their membership fee.

Individual Memberships

• For a $100 yearly membership– They would receive a $225

scholarship for each MTM class taken that year.

• For a $200 yearly membership– They would receive a $450

scholarship for each MTM class taken that year.

School Example Immanuel, Wisconsin Rapids

• Their membership cost was $300

• They received $5200 in MTM scholarships

• They received $2280 in CUW grants

School ExampleEmanuel, New London

• They paid $500 for a membership

• They received $8450 in MTM scholarships

District Example - Indiana• 28 principals and teachers

took MTM classes one semester.

• Scholarships provided for these principals and teachers amounted to: $17,400.00

• The Indiana District is asked to provide $5000.00 a year for three years.

Challenge - Think Tank in June

• For pastors and DCE’s

• Purpose is to explore possibilities of what we may do for this ministry group.

• Our courses help principals and teachers not only to learn about the technology, but also to learn with the technology and how to integrate it into their curriculums.

• We are being told by many that the 21st century requires a preparation of the nation’s future citizens in markedly different ways than in the past.

• Schools are expected to respond with changes in both the tools used to attain this literacy and the curriculum that supports this learning.
