MotoArt welcomes you to our 2009 catalog. Whether you’ve been following our work for ten years or you are new fan to our art, we have numerous new additions to our series that we are pleased to share. Each of our authentic series pieces are limited editions based on the available air frame parts that we can secure.

Our once small business has now blossomed into an international affair. Over 50% of our hand crafted art pieces are now shipped overseas to far away locations as Russia, Japan, Australia, Asia, The Middle East and throughout the European continent.

Our client base for corporate work has also increased dramatically. We are pleased to introduce new partnerships with companies in our portfolio including Spyker Cars, The Boeing Company, Lockheed Martin, Kaiser Hospitals, Microsoft, and Disney.

Please feel free to visit our web site for more information and detailed photographs of our products. Each month we continue to introduce a new limited edition series. To stay current with our work just subscribe to our monthly newsletter by sending us an e-mail at [email protected]

Blue Skies,

Dave & Donovan

MotoArt - Saving History One Piece At a TimeWe would like to share some of the most common questions that we receive at MotoArt in this introduction. Listed below are some of these questions with our answers. Hopefully this will better give some insight into MotoArt.

Where does Motort get their parts? We find our inventory all over the world. Different yards specialize in different aircraft. Most commercial aircraft parts come from the deserts in California and Arizona. However the older, more vintage parts are typically found in isolated locations.

Isn’t there an abundance of old airplanes out there? Yes, and no. Since 9/11, the US Government changed the laws about decommissioned parts. You can no longer obtain old military aircraft. Everything that leaves our Government bases must be scrapped in very small sections, making it all unusable. Any fighter, bomber or US Cargo airplane part that we use is being pulled from a pre-9/11 pile. These piles are growing smaller each day. Commercial Aircraft are available because the FAA requires them to be decommissioned after so many cycles of take off & landings.

How & when did MotoArt start? Dave & Donovan who founded MotoArt, worked together in the 1990’s as architectural sign guys. They did high-end theme work for large entertainment parks and sporting venues. One day the scrap aluminum truck came by and he had an old beat up B-17 propeller in back of his truck. Donovan rescued it and created the first Propeller Sculpture. The rest is history.

Didn’t I see this stuff on TV one time? Yes, MotoArt did a television series called Wing Nuts back in 2004 for Discovery Channel. Eight one-hour episodes were produced based on our work. Unfortunately it ended when our good friend and partner Tim Roberts passed away from a heart attack. You can still find Wing Nuts airing in all parts of the world besides the US.

What type of clients does MotoArt have? MotoArt clients are some of the most diverse we ever could have imagined. From top celebrities, Fortune 500 companies, self made people who reward themselves, to young adults who save money for years to buy one of our pieces.

Why are MotoArt products so expensive? In actuality they’re not considering the process our pieces must go through to look so good. Great cost goes into procuring the parts by finding; removing them and shipping them back to our studios. Also process also entails the tedious process of sanding and polishing each piece that sometimes leads to hundreds of hours work.

Why do you call yourself MotoArt? MotoArt was originally started to preserve all works of recycled engineered parts from of industrial art.

How many pieces have you designed? To date, MotoArt has designed and fabricated nearly a hundred different series of recycled functional art.

MotoArt and Microsoft teamed up to deliver a unique and compelling design exhibit space to present the Flight Simulator X. Touted by aviation enthusiasts as THE “as real as it gets” flight simulation experience. Microsoft debuted their new Flight SimX exhibit at the EAA Air Show 2006 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The exhibit was created utilizing four TBM Avenger Elevators each mounted on a set of four 737 Galley Bars to create the user space to play the game.
