Learning for all at Morgan Street A big thank you to our entire school community for your support as we transitioned back to full time learning at school for our students in their own classrooms, with their classmates and teachers last week. The noise that fills our school when all our students are here is certainly a welcome sound. Lots of smiling faces in each class were observed as students spent the week reacquainting themselves with each other and routines.
Last week we held our first school assembly by Zoom. A big thank you to our captains Madison and Oscar for bravely accepting the challenge of hosting it.
We have been provided with flexibility by the NSW Department of Education to alter the process for reporting to parents in Semester One. We will be taking the opportunity to use the flexibility and we are aiming to work with our families within the process. Our Three-Way Interview process was stalled due to COVID-19 and we want to place the interviews at the heart of our process. Further information will be sent home on Wednesday.
We have recently been made aware by members of the public of some traffic concerns at pick up times. Please ensure that you are not parking on nature strips or across drive ways, especially at the K-2 end of the school. Also, can families please not park in the lane next to the 3-6 Office / canteen at drop off / pick up times.
I must say that I have been very proud to be a member of the Morgie Machine that took part in the Push-Up Challenge. The team has raised over $3000 for the Broken Hill Headspace. Each team member completed 3,046 push ups—well done team!
Have a wonderful week of learning!

Last week our classes reconnected and created jigsaw puzzles. Here are two more. We think they look great!
Last Wednesday was National
Simultaneous Story Time.
This means that across Australia children read the same
story at the same time of the
day.
This year’s book was “Whitney
and Britney Chicken Divas” by
Lucinda Gifford. We joined in
listening to and helping to read the story in a zoom
link up.
There were awesome funny teacher dress-ups, a bit of
weird chicken dancing, some strange chicken noises, a few technical difficulties and some laughs, plus
activities in class, during library classes and at lunch
time in the library. Thanks Morgies for helping to
celebrate reading in a fun way.

We Belong in 5/6J Returning back to school has been a tricky and challenging time for us all. Last week consisted of collaborative learning, positive
thinking and fun activities.
Each morning, we have participated in the kindness challenge, promoting positivity through small acts of kindness to ourselves,
others and the world. This has been helping everyone through these times and allowing us to continue to work together positively.
Each day, there is something new that brings us closer together and puts a smile on our faces. Teamwork makes the dream work!
Old Computers
We have a number of old student
computers to give away. These
computers will have no programs
installed on them. Windows 10 and
Microsoft Office will need to be
purchased and installed. If you are
interested in obtaining one of these
computers, please contact the school.
