Wood burning stoves should be easy to operate, attractive and environmentally friendly. Thus, Lotus has opted to give top priority to quality and functionality in our design philosophy as well as in our choice of materials. All our stoves are tested by recognised test authorities, thus guaranteeing that Lotus products will always meet the most stringent environmental requirements.

The Lotus range of wood burning stoves and fireplace inserts has been created in close cooperation between Architect Kaare Sølvsten, technicians and suppliers from all over the world. We combine Danish design traditions with the best quality components. Our outlook is international and we always strive to create simple, beautiful products, grounded in tradition and renewal. Our vision is to create totality and userfriendliness with complete products that combine the best of design, functionality and technology.

Lotus has been producing highquality wood burning stoves since 1979. Our range now includes 14 unique design series, all of which can be supplemented with various accessories. We also offer the widest range of fireplace inserts on the market. In 2001, Lotus started collaborating with architect and cabinetmaker Kaare Sølvsten on the development of the Lotus 5000 and 6000 series. Ever since, his passionate commitment and simple, stylish mode of expression has characterised the design aspect of the company in close collaboration with engineers and manufacturers.

Kaare Sølvsten is coowner of the design studio Seier+Sølvsten in Aarhus, which works across disciplines in the fields of architecture, interior decoration and design. With a professional depth and competence both within the tradition of Danish craftsmanship and his training in architecture at the School of Arts and Crafts and at the School of Architecture at the Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Kaare Sølvsten’s work has been awarded numerous prizes and he has gained recognition as one of the country’s preeminent architects.

Thus his approach to design is characterised by both a firm academic and a theoretical grounding and a genuine love for the craftsmanship and materials, and this shines through in the stoves he has designed for Lotus. According to Kaare Sølvsten, quality is inextricably linked to the union of functionality, technology and design. He takes a holistic approach to his work, meaning that he thinks in terms of the whole rather than a series of fragments put together. Therefore, the design process should endeavour to take all conditions and needs into account.

According to Kaare Sølvsten, a designer has a duty to incorporate the consumer into the design process and feel a sense of responsiblity for the product he is sending out into the world. A product should give rise to an experience that the customer can identify with and be able to use and derive enjoyment from for many years to come. In terms of technology, the stoves Kaare Sølvsten has designed present a quality of craftsmanship and are functional and easy for the consumer to operate. At the same time, the stoves have a universal appeal and are easily integrated into any home. In Kaare Sølvsten’s view, ethics and the environment take high priority and form a valuable basis for the creation and production of Lotus stoves.

A slight pull of the automatic handle will open it up for the pre-set inflow of air. The air is automatically fed to the bottom of the combustion chamber.

The Comfort Automatik is equipped with an easily changeable 9V battery. The battery has a very long life since it only uses a minimal amount of power.

The pre-set addition of air can be set to provide air for 1-7 minutes. The setting is stepless and you can easily set the time by turning the switch. The time-setting can be adjusted regu-larly or until you find the optimal setting for your wood and chimney.

The air from the combustion vent is pulled in through the air vent below the stove and from here is fed up into the stove through the Comfort Automatik function.

SIMPLE AND EASY KINDLING AND STOKING

We have developed an automatic air regulator that makes it even easier to operate the wood burning stove. Comfort Automatik can be chosen as an optional extra to our stoves, making it easier to become a wood burning stove user.

Look for the Comfort Automatik symbol on the individual stove models.

With Comfort Automatik, a controlled volume of air is fed directly into the bottom of the stove for a limited period of time, thus ensuring:

The Lotus S700 series has a timeless appeal which accentuates and lends itself perfectly to the age’s minimalistic architecture and simple interior design style. The stove has been made narrower at the back than at the front, which emphasises its lines, the height of the stove and the elegant stainless steel elements. The black glass panels give the stove an air of exclusivity and can be placed either above or below the door.

The Lotus 9000 series, with its sandstone cladding give the stove a special look since the natural lines from the soapstone sediment give each stove its own unique character. Moreover, the sandstone cladding gives it the ability to distribute and release heat more quickly.

The Lotus 9000 is a classic and modern series of wood burning stoves with a wide range of individual and flexible options. The stoves in this series have it all and are available in a range of different heights and cladding in steel, ceramic or soapstone. The stove’s oval form is finished off in harmonic fashion with a circular top plate.

As an optional extra, you can choose the crescentshaped top plate or the option of an open baking compartment. The stove also comes with the option of a selflocking door system that works on the same principle as a car door with traditional twopoint closing.

The Lotus 2000 series is a heavyweight in its class. The result of 40 years’ work, this series is a cornerstone in Lotus wood burning stoves. In terms of design, it is still highly contemporary and possesses a genuine and original mode of expression. It is a modern stove with strong classical origins. Its solid weight and sturdy construction and unique features, such as the steel bands which hug the stove body and castiron door accentuate its affinity with the wood burning stoves of days gone by. With its own unique charm, this stove has held its own and still, as it did when it first appeared, represents the best in wood stove design.

The basic Lotus 2060 stove can be combined with various sections in the range, including a wood compartment and/or additional heating compartments. Moreover, the traditional firewood can be supplemented with coal, which merely requires two daily fillings to supply roundtheclock heating for an averaged sized living space.

The Lotus 7000 series comprises wood burning stoves on a plinth. This design gives the stove a light and modern appearance which makes it easy to integrate and the obvious choice in living spaces where simple design is a priority. The form of the stoves is sleeker than with traditional stoves, making them practical and ideal, even in homes where space is at a premium.

The stoves are manufactured with a large curved glass pane and you have the option of choosing a practical rotating function as an optional extra which enables you to view the flames from a variety of angles. All in all, a small investment to make for a unique experience.

Soapstone, a natural material, has the unique ability to retain heat and then release it slowly. The high weight of the soapstone and the stove’s unique construction optimally combine the mass stove’s ability to store heat and then release it slowly via the relaxing and controlled combustion of the wood burning stove whereby the heat is distributed quickly. The heavier the stove, the more heat it can store to release later. If you opt for slow heat distribution, you will simultaneously be building up a higher temperature in the soapstone.

This is regulated easily by means of the elegant control lever on the stove. The combustion chambers of all Lotus storage stoves are covered with materials which allow the heat to pass through the side of the combustion chamber and out into the storage mass. This makes for optimal utilisation of the storage mass and make it possible for the heat to be released over a period of more than 14 hours.

Compared with most other stoves, Lotus stoves with heat storage also heat up the lowest parts of the storage mass thus achieving optimal use of the stove’s total heat mass.

The Sola M is the preferred choice of many customers when it comes to heat storage. Like the Sola MST, it is designed and built to store as much heat as possible. The combustion chamber is covered with materials which allow the heat to pass through the side of the combustion chamber and out into the storage mass. This allows for optimal utilisation of the storage mass and the release of heat for up to 14 hours. Lotus stoves with heat storage have the advantage that the lowest part of the storage mass is also heated.

The stove is characterised by a sleek and elegant design in addition to a tall door which makes for a fantastic experience of the flames. The stainless steel door handle follows the curved form of the door and is located so that it doesn’t get hot. The stove’s circular shape and depth of just 38.5 cm make it easy to integrate many places in the home.

PrIMArY HEAT SOUrCE FOr THE HOME

The Lotus MQM has been designed and produced to be able to function as the primary roundtheclock heat source. At a total weight exceeding 1000 kilos, the MQM is the largest Lotus storage mass stove. Its design bears certain similarities to both the Lotus M and the Lotus QM. The form of the stove is composed of two geometrical shapes with different functions. The circular part functions as an additional storage compartment and is provided with ducts that ensure that the heat is distributed in the unit. The storage compartment can be placed to the left as well as to the right of the combustion chamber – however, it is supplied with the left hand option as standard.This model allows you to choose whether the primary heat distribution is to be conducted by way of convection or radiation heat. This is performed easily by changing the position of the right hand operating handle beneath the door. Most models are available in a choice of five different frontages – a steel frontage in black or grey, stainless steel and with a double door with a glass frontage or the Magic, with black reflective glass and a large glass frame – in a single section.

All Lotus fireplace inserts can be supplied with a combustion air vent that ensures better heat utilisation and the option of moving some of the heat to several rooms. This way, you are making optimal use of your fireplace insert. SPrEAD THE wArMTH AND COSINESS TO SEvErAL rOOMS

Lotus fireplace inserts with an inbuilt ventilator – i.e. the Air model – effectively create the option of distributing the heat between several rooms. Cold air is sucked in through the vent beneath the door and the warmed air is released from the vent above the door or fed via tubes to other rooms in the house. The ventilator can be regulated steplessly and can shift up to 300 m3 air per hour. This provides optimum warmth throughout the home.

The following models are available with the ventilator: H470, H570, H470 W og H570 W and supplied with a steel frontage in black or grey.
