How to Set Up a Recording Time/Request a Mediasite Live folder Faculty may call/email Lynne Fleisher in the Office of Extended Programs at 814-393-2778/[email protected] to set up a time to record a new presentation and/or request a folder for each semester needed. A technician will be contacted and a room/ time will be determined. If you would like to schedule a recording time for a particular class all semester ex: every Monday at 3:00 pm, please let us know in advance and we will find a technician for the entire semester to facilitate this. Extended Programs will need the following information from you: For Example: Course(s) ED 101 Term Spring 2010 Section(s) W01, W01C, W01W A course folder will be set up for your recordings and only students enrolled in the course(s)/section(s) you submitted to our office, for example ED 101 W01 Spring 2010, will have access to the content.

Sign-In/Sign-Out Instructions To Sign-In: To access Media Site Live you must have Windows Media Player Installed on your computer. Dial-up Internet connections are not supported.

Go to: http://msite.clarion.edu/mediasite/manage

You will be prompted for a Username and Password. Enter your MyClarion Username and Password into the fields.

You will be directed to the home page of the management portal.

To Sign-Out: You will place your mouse over your email address in the upper right-hand corner. Then you will choose “Sign Out”

Viewing Folders To view presentations click on the “Courses” folder and select the semester and then the course you want to review.

To view your archived presentations, click on the “archive” folder then click on your name under the archive folder. A list of all of your presentations will be listed chronologically. Find the presentation that you would like to view and click directly on the title.

Click on the “Watch” button. The video will appear in a new window. Once you are done viewing the presentation, click the red close X button for that window. This will close the window and you will be back at the Mediasite Management Portal.

Create a Shortcut to Previously Recorded Content for Your Current Course To create a shortcut for your current course from a previously recorded presentation in your archive folder, click on your “archive” folder then click on your name under the archive folder.

A list of all of your presentations will be displayed. Find the presentation that you would like to “make a shortcut” to your current course and click directly on the title.

You will now click “More” then click “Create Shortcut.”

This will give you the option to change the title and/or the description (if necessary). Choose the folder you want to place the previously recorded presentation in to by choosing a ”Destination Folder”; this would be the course you are currently teaching.

You can now go back to “Courses” and search under the folder drop down. Select the course you are currently teaching by expanding the courses folder and selecting the term you created the shortcut in.

You have successfully created a shortcut of a previously recorded presentation and “moved” it to your current course!

Delete a Recording If you have created a shortcut to a presentation in your current course that you would like to delete, check the box beside the title of the presentation you would like to delete and then click “delete”. If you have questions on deleting shortcuts do not hesitate to call the Extended Programs Office before proceeding.

Next, click “Ok” on when the message box appears. The presentation has now been moved to the Recycle Bin.

Analytics – What’s Being Watched The What’s Being Watched feature allows you to see what students are watching at the current time. Click on “Analytics”. Then choose “What’s Being Watched".

Analytics – User Statistics The User Statistics Report shows the activity for each student. This report will show the number of times the student visited each presentation, detail on dates the presentations were viewed and the session duration.

Click on the username above the bar graph for more detailed information on a particular student. Date activity and presentation statistics can be viewed for each individual student.

Analytics – Server Statistics The Server Statistics Report shows the activity on the server by date. This report shows the browser statistics, platform and player statistics. Note that you can view for the day or for the week. Click on the one you would like to view.

Archiving Current Semester Presentations At the end of each semester your content WILL be moved by the Extended Programs office to your archive folder. From there, you will have the same access to these presentations you had while it was in your courses folder. WARNING! If you have students that will need access to the presentations after the end of the term you MUST let the Office of Extended Programs know. Your content will be moved to your archive folder and your students will not have access to the presentations after the end of the term. Students will only have access to your presentations for the current term.
