MAP INT Meccanica Alta Precisione Srl has its main office and manufactu-ring facility in Saronno (Varese).

During the first months of 2017, all MAP industrial, commercial and ad-ministrative activities have been taken over by MAP INT S.r.l., collecting the valuable MAP know-how gained in over 60 years of presence in the international markets.

The company is a member of UNIVA (Unione Industriali Varese).

The company is committed to supplying to all international markets products of the highest precision and reliability for subsequent industrial uses, guaranteeing both efficient design and planning services and technical support.

The history of the new MAP INT is substantially that of MAP SPA and refers to this

mission

MAP was set up in 1957 by the three Venturi brothers, all possessing significant professional experience following over twenty years of activity with well-established firms within the precision mechanical sector.

The company started up as a family concern, its first facility being a small workshop on the outskirts of Saronno.

MAP soon got bigger and in 1967 built its first facility in the industrial area of the town. In 1995 it extended its production capacity by setting up a second unit connected to the main facility. A further expansion took place in 2003 when the firm extended its production facility to include an area equipped for raw materials stock and for the first phases of production.

Over the years MAP has always invested in new technologies, thus guaranteeing an ongoing updating of both production plant and control instruments.

In 2010 MAP was radically restructured, moving from a typical family-run concern to a managerial-style firm.

applicationsAutomotive componentsOur presence in this key market is through the production of cylindrical units, meaning parts of highly complex components such as: common rail and fuel injection pumps, water pumps, oil pumps, air-conditioning compressors, ESP units, starters, wiper reducers, etc.

Rollers for mechanical transmission industriesIn this market our production comprises rollers selected in classes from 1 or 2 µm with ZB or logarhythmic profile. MAP rollers are suitable for assembly in gear reducers, planetary and harmonic gearboxes.

Linear guidesIn this market our production comprises first class rollers with special profile and features that are tailor-made for the customer.

Roller bearingsFor the bearing industry, MAP produces cylindrical rollers for radial, axial, cross-roller and self-aligning bearings according to customer specifications.

Large-dimension rollersRollers with diameter from 20 to 50 mm with a cylindrical or logarhythmic profile for use in heavy industry, in large-dimension bearings, in the rail sector, as well as in hydraulic motor and wind power sectors.

pins and needlesWe produce pins, centring elements, axes, bearing needles and linear guide rollers.

The cylindrical body of the needles involves a tapering of the sides to improve performance in use and to lengthen the life.

Specific fillet radii are produced to facilitate pins mounting.

Rollers may be produced in bearing steel, case hardening steel, austenitic and martensitic stainless steel.

Needles and pins are made according to customer specifications or according to DIN 5402 standard.

Rollers may be supplied selected in precision classes of 1 or 2 µm.

We produce cylindrical rollers for use in bearings.

Cylindrical rollers are suitable for use in precision bearings due to the regular roundness of the rolling surface and for the accuracy of the class selections.

For bearings or slewing bearings suitable for heavy-load use, MAP INT produces rollers with modified profile which gua-rantee longer life to the roller and to the rolling track.Where a high level of smooth running and regularity of rolling are required, we produce superfinished rollers.

We produce cylindrical rollers withmodified profile for use in recirculating runner blocks or large-dimension bearings for heavy industry or for wind power applications.

Over these last years, the company has invested in new in-feed and thru-feed grinding machines for profile generation and is able to produce rollers suitable for heavy-load applications both at low (slewing bearing) and high rotation speeds (car engines).

In its Saronno facility MAP INT has all the processes needed for the transformation of steel into the finished roller.

For specific heat or surface treatment, the company uses certified suppliers whose quality has been tested over many years.

All roller working phases are carried out within the facility.

For each step, the company has machinery able to guarantee the precision and repeatability requi-red by leading automotive customers and by the bearing and linear bearing industry.

The machinery and plant have all control and monitoring instruments able to guarantee the conformity of the product in every single step of working.

MAP INT has on board a quality system management according to what is laid down by ISO-TS 16949 and ISO 9001 standards.

The company has a fully-equipped metallographic laboratory for raw material control before and after heat treatment and an equally equipped testing lab for measuring all the roller dimensions.

For non-destructive final controls we also have surface control instruments for Magnetic Particles Inspection (MPI) and for Eddy Current Control with personnel qualified according to EN 473 norm.
