    The Station placement (3)

While on duty, participants must be at thestation. Each participant will be assigned to aspecific ambulance, and when that ambulance iscalled, the participant will accompany the

MDA staff on the call. In many cases, the calls are for simple tasks

such as transporting an elderly patient from thehospital to a nursing home. However anything

is possible on an ambulance. A slow day canend with CPR, a multi-casualty incident, andeven with a birth !

    MDA Stations and Placements

Each MDA station can accommodate a limitednumber of overseas volunteers.

The bigger stations such as Jerusalem, Tel Avivand Haifa can take up to eight overseas

volunteers, while the smaller stations canaccommodate only 2-5.

The reason for this limitation is each ambulancecan accommodate only two to three volunteers on

a given shift. The overseas volunteers joinIsraeli volunteers that work regularly atthe station. 10
