We have support workers to make sure you can do the things

you want to do for example, sports, art, cooking, film nights.

You tell us we’ll do it!

We go on lots of fun trips and activities for example, the pub,

clubs, karaoke, cafes and many more!

A Self Advocacy group, run by and for people with learning

disabilities. At Safety Net People First we support each other

to speak up about things that are important to us.

We run skills development workshops during term time and

organize fun activities during school holidays. We focus on

social engagement and building confidence.

What is My Life: Out and About?

We provide high quality, bespoke

support packages for people with

learning disabilities.

How can we support you ?

We can support you with your daily tasks and the

activities you wish to attend. This could be:

Social and leisure events

Household tasks

Accessing education

Personal care

When/where is support available?

Our trained support staff are available for 1 hour a

week to 24 hours a day, working across all London

boroughs.

How can you access personal support?

You can access support using your personal budget or

other forms of direct payment, such as paying with

private funds or with funding directly from your local

authority.

“Members Meetings”

We are a Self Advocacy group, run by and

for people with learning disabilities

We meet to discuss events, training and

campaigns. Our aim is to improve services,

campaign on real issues and raise awareness about

the needs of people with learning disabilities.

Information

of Activities

In each of our activities, we connect all of these

elements shown below to lead a healthier lifestyle.

But we can’t do it on our own, we need your help to

achieve this!

All of our activities are SOCIALLY

inclusive. For example, in our popular

dance class, all of the participants interact

with each other to perform dance routines.

The PSYCHOLOGICAL element is important

for our clients mental well-being. We try and

create innovative ideas to stimulate our clients.

The PHYSICAL element of our activities are

increasing. We are now introducing

Trampolining and Fitness Circuits to improve

the number of hours of physical activity per

week to improve overall health.

We are sad to say that Greg is leaving us after 4 1/2 years.

As a team we can say what a big impact he has made at HF

Mencap as the Play inclusion Coordinator.

He will be working for The Limes Community & Childrens

Centre in Walthamstow.

Luck and we hope to see you soon!
