• ABB is a leader in power and automation technologies that
enable utility and industry customers to improve their

• ABB in the UK operates from more than 20 locations and
employs over 2,300 people
• Product Group, EV Charging Infrastructure is part of the
ABB’s Discrete Automation and Motion division
• In July 2011 ABB strengthened its EV charging activity by
aquiring Epyon B.V.
• Epyon was a Spin-off from the Delft University of Technology
later funded by 4 Venture Capital funds and Lite-On
Technology Corporation
• Core expertise in rapid charging Li-ion batteries and an early
leader in DC rapid charging infrastructure with over 6 years of
experience
• First commercial rapid charging station was opened May
2010
