RockTenn: Corrugator Supervisor April 15, 2012 - PresentRichmond, VA

Began as a Converting Supervisor in charge of three Flexos and three die cutters. Management requested that I become the Corrugator department as a Supervisor due to a vacancy. Presently, manage the Corrugator department with eight employees. Under my leadership, running 270, 000 lf in eight hours with zero down time, with an average of 47 lfh,

2.9 million msf .

RockTenn: Shipping Supervisor January 1, 2012 – April 15, 2012Winston Salem, NC

Supervise 20 employees in the Shipping department. Responsible for overseeing three shifts and dispatch. Maintained shipping inventory, trailer utilization and OTD deliveries.

RockTenn: Plant Superintendent April 2011 – January 2012Martinsville, VA

Supervise 80+ employees in the plant. Responsible for overseeing the Corrugator, Shipping and Converting department. Responsible for plant inventory, roll stock and maintaining the warehouse of finish goods. Under good leadership plant began to make a profit.

RockTenn: Converting Supervisor May 2010 – April 2011Winston Salem, NC

Supervise 25 employees in the converting department. Manage three Flexo folder gluer and two die cutters. Accomplish 2.8 msf in an eight hour period. Manage plant inventory, maintain stock and order supplies for successful production. Maintained excellent safety record.

Richmond, VA Supervise 8 employees in the corrugating department. Manage department that was producing 19,000 linear feet per an hour. Presently, the department is

producing 25,000 linear feet per an hour. Continuously improving department, producing 423,000 linear feet and over approximately 3 million

linear feet in a 12 hour timeline. An impressive record for this plant. Manage plant inventory, maintain stock and order supplies for successful production.

Smurfit Stone Corporation: Converting Supervisor March 2005 – September 2009Winston Salem, NC

Supervised 24 employees in the converting department on first shift. Responsible for ordering converting supplies. Was part of the Operational Excellent Program that was

geared to the improvement and new approach in enhancing the company’s production. The Winston Salem Plant was the trial plant for Operational Excellent in which I participated. During

these implementations I was requested to go to Chicago and present sections of the playbook. In the processes taken from the Operational Excellent playbook (set up reduction) my machine 50”

Saturn ran 22 setups at 14 minutes in an 8hr period.

J&J South-Central/Georgia-Pacific: Plant Superintendent October 2004 – March 2005

Built a bridge between corrugator, converting and shipping departments with over 100 employees under my direction.

J&J South-Central/Georgia-Pacific: Converting Superintendent July 2001 – October 2004

Reduced set up times in the plant to world class times with flexo folder gluers averaging 11 minutes while increasing plant throughput by 5% to about 5.5 MSF per day.

Led department in OSHA incident rate of 0.0 in 2003, which contributed to the plant’s rate of 0.0. Enforced safety and plant rules in accordance with union contract. Led plant, through 5S implementation, to an excellent rating in AIB certification during the plant’s first

audit in 2003 and improved that rating by 15 points in 2004. Participated in the waste reduction effort –reduced plant waste from 8.2% to 6.3% over the past 3 years

and helped the plant achieve divisional certification after it was decertified in 2000. Assisted in Kaizen teams in conjunction with customer’s, instituted a new quality process based on SPC

and reduced complaint dollars per MSF by 8% from 2003 while maintaining high visibility to the plant’s customer base and sales group.

Fostered an atmosphere of trust and unity with production employees and supervisors through an open door policy based on mutual respect.

Was instrumental in plant profitability by balancing converting cost reduction though manpower allocation and supplies checks and balances.

Acted as liaison to regional manufacturing manager as a troubleshooter and was sent to other regional plants to assess and recommend improvements.

J&J Southeast/Georgia-Pacific: Converting Superintendent July 1999 – June 2001

Assisted plant with set up reduction efforts, waste reduction, 5S implementation while responsible for 90 union employees and 3 supervisors. Led department through centerlining process implementation.

J&J Southeast/Nekoosa Packaging: Printing Supervisor – 2nd shift January 1995 – July 1999 Led two 50-inch flexo, one 38-inch flexo, and 2 rotary die-cutter crews to higher throughput. Ensured

on-time delivery of next day orders.

Led four tow motor drivers and 19 dedicated tractor-trailer drivers and handled all outbound shipments with outside carriers during my shift. Reacted to change to ensure driver availability and customer satisfaction while adhering to DOT regulations.

J&J Southeast/Nekoosa Packaging: Finishing Supervisor – 3rd shift March 1987 – Dec 1989 Responsible for an 86-inch press, 66 inch press, 89-inch press, a folder gluer, stitcher, taper, and hot

melt machine along with 24 crewmembers.

J&J Southeast/Nekoosa Packaging: Hourly Production Employee May 1884 – February 1987 Assisted on 50” flexo, operated taper, hot melt machine, assisted on stitcher, lead assistant on die cutter,

and stacker operator on 98” corrugator

Accomplishments

Received Georgia-Pacific’s Packaging Division’s Coin of Excellence at the J&J South-Central plant in Huntsville, Alabama in 2003.
