Chilliwack is a growing city

In 2016, there were 73,155 people living in Chilliwack

In 2018, there were 91,797 people living in Chilliwack

By 2021, it is predicted there will be more than 100,000 people living in Chilliwack

It will continue to grow

As of 2016, there are over 17,000 youth (18 and under) living in Chilliwack

Just over 13,000 of these children are school aged

What will Chilliwack’s development look like?

In 2016, there were 29,685 private dwellings

30% of Chilliwack’s economy comes from agriculture

Land for development is increasingly hard to find

Create a structure that...Will meet the demands of Chilliwack’s school age population (this is the school of your dreams!)

Or...will meet the demands of Chilliwack’s growing population

Either option must reflect the importance of agriculture in Chilliwack and the scarcity of land

As an extra challenge, try to incorporate elements of the UN’s 17 Global Goals

Important informationEach Minecraft block represents 1m3 (this is mostly to help you create a reasonable footprint)

Must include signs to explain features

Groups of 1-4–remember we only have 15 laptops!

The final presentation will be a walking tour of your project, shown with the projector
