Organic Sky Scraper - London Design Competition
Design competition to design an ‘organic’ sky scraper.
The principle is of an empty frame and as tenantsbecome interested, additional storeys can beinstalled - the frame consists of 2 services rises tobe able to supply the building at full capacity,
Complete tower vs incomplete tower Site analysis to understand the environmental implication of the proposal
Design development tounderstand the form andinteraction between the core and modules.

Madrid Digital Arts Museum Design Competition
Design competition to design a digital arts museumin Madrid which would inspire pushing digital arts toits limits using the latest technology.
The site and the requirements was fairly difficult tomanage, the site is very tight with limited access -part of the brief was derrogated, particularly the car park as there was just not sufficient space toachieve the desired number of spaces.

Design Parti is the wheel, the oldest form of ‘technological advancement’. Due to the tight site, the parti was utilised as the floor plate.
Madrid Digital Arts Museum Design Competition
The brief asked for an underground car park with25 bays which was impossible with the given space. This part of the brief had to be derrogated butinvestigations into the local area found public transport links local to the proposed scheme.

The damanding brief and tightsite made the space planning the priority of the project.
The parti worked with the sitein terms of having moreoutdoor public space and providing multiple points of escape in the event of an emergency.

FADRA Community Centre 2nd Year Live Project
FADRA community centre - live project to design a new community centre in the Oldham area. The project was completed as a 2 stage design competiton madeup of multi-disciplinary teams.
The secluded and natural setting of the site allowedthe timber cladding to fit in well as well as obtaining potential BREEAM credits as per the Employers requirements.

Design Studies: Conservation 3rd Year project
Conversion of an existing barn to a design office, Keyfeatures of the barn were retained as guidance fromEnglish Heritage and SPAB were considered throughout.
The orintation allowed installation on the northelevation which allows for consistant day lighting to the design office.

Architectural Detailing 3rd Year project
Architectural detailing moduled tasked students todevelop detailed designs of a small house projectcompleted in the second year of the course.
This module was a crucial development point as itforced students to think about how to take a projectbeyond conceptual designs.

Design Management Design Co-ordination
Design co-ordination is an important aspect of a design managers role. However some issues are notcaught early enough can result in problems on site.
By working with the site team and design team, it is crucial to chair workshops and come to a quick resolution before there are further problems.
