“ This was a real family effort as I roped in mydear wife, daughters, and son-in-law and even one of my granddaughters to pose them instrange posing positions in our garden in frontof a green screen to facilitate easy extraction.I had created the Banana Image over a yearago, and always knew that I would find a use forago, and always knew that I would find a use forit some day. The saucer reminded me of amakeshift boat, and so the piece took on anautical theme. ”

“A short while ago, I met a trulyfascinating man in downtownAsheville … a nomadic street artist at workfashioning (among other things)eclectic jewelry …and wearing an entire outfit of itand wearing an entire outfit of ithimself. He was quite charming, gentle, soft-spoken, intelligent. He has apparently spent thepast 30 years traveling about thecountry collecting what has cometo constitute his extraordinary garb, selling his art to earn his way inthis world, and along the journey making many friends. His has been athis world, and along the journey making many friends. His has been aremarkable, storied life … and when I offered to have some art createdin his likeness, he was delighted . . .” — Sebastian Michaels

“ This piece generated from my heart & fantasy, the photo is my son whomI have not spoken to for 2 years. It represents being wounded and having difficulty

making choices. Not knowing to go dark or light, torn between parents at odds with eachother. Very emotional piece for me, although therapeutic at the same time. ”
