• This world is filled with despair.

• Look at the people in the world.– What do they live for?– What do they look forward to?– Is there any lasting comfort in the world?

• People need hope in something better.– They need to see things the way God wants

them to.

We Need God’s Comfort!

• It is God’s hope that we receive a close relationship with Him and eternal life. Titus 1:2, 4; James 4:4-10

• As we grow closer to God through our trials and comforts we can help others grow and be comforted too. 2 Cor. 1:2-12; Romans 5:1-5; James 1:2-4

• We need to learn about God’s hope so we can share it with others! Romans 8:15-25

The Richness of Hope

• Hope is a strong desire plus the expectation of receiving that desire.

• Our hope is in:– God! 1 Peter 1:21– Jesus Christ! 1 Thes. 1:3; 1 Timothy 1:1– The promise of eternal life. Titus 3:7; Col. 1:5– A life full of assurance and rejoicing. Heb. 3:6;

6:11; 2 Thes. 2:16

The Richness of Hope• God gave us His inspired word so that we can

have hope! Rom. 15:4• Faith, hope and love are listed among the greatest

things that we can have. 1 Cor. 13:13• Our hope is by faith! Gal. 5:5

• Rom_15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

There is only one hope of our calling and it’s given through the gospel. Eph. 4:4; Col. 1:23

Give Hope and Comfort

• Everyone needs hope, they just might not know it yet. Many are without it. Eph. 2:12

• God wants us to give help and hope. Galatians 6:10; 2 Corinthians 1:4– Many people need a help in some way:

• They need to know they are loved. Jn. 3:16• They need comforted. 2 Cor. 1• They need relieved. James 1:27• They need salvation (need God). Acts 4:12• They need you! Luke 19:10; Mark 16:15

• Now that you are reminded of so much good that God gives you, get ready to share that hope and comfort with others.

• Jesus invites you to come and be saved.– Hear Him and believe the gospel. Rom. 1:16-17– Repent of sin. Acts 2:38– Confess Jesus. Romans 10:9-10– Be Baptized into Christ. Rom. 6:3-6
