Squeamish shrieks and squeals are the order of the day as camp-ers engage in delightfully repulsive projects that help you learn about the gross, but cool, workings of the human body. Explore the body’s stinky, oozy, slimy, and liquidy products, make fake blood, mucous, and scabs. Through hands-on activities, you will get the “poop” on human gross science and become an official “grossologist.” Introductory Shop Rat Summer Camp (grades 6-8) The Shop Rat Introductory Summer Camp is a single week, 30 hour program that provides students with the opportunity to partici-pate in hands-on, project based learning modules related to ma-chining, engineering, construction and welding. The intent is to generate excitement for these career/educational pathways, while providing students with basic skills that they can further develop through continued participation in related educational opportuni-ties. Students will participate in both group and individual projects, with the opportunity to take much of what they make home. Pro-jects include an engineering project, turned workshop pencils, wooden toolboxes, machined levels and an introduction to weld-ing. For students enrolled in grades 6, 7 and 8; this camp meets 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; cost is $75.00 for all students.
