Volunteering
The Glasgow West Area Volunteer Experience is a joint project
between LINKES, the Dumbarton Road Corridor Environment Trust and The
Whiteinch Centre to develop and promote new volunteering opportunities,
Volunteering is a great way to learn new skills, meet new people and make a
difference in your local community. Theres something for everyone, from
bike repair to toddlers groups, marketing to composting.
*Chrissy was interested in welfare rights she spoke to Katherine and is now volunteering at Linkes benefits and advice sessions and
is going to start training with the CAB.
*Susan , Nicki and Jen all volunteer at Linkes play
sessions heres why: I retired about a year ago and wanted to work with kids - Im learning new skills. Its the flexibility that suits I met Katherine for a chat about opportunities she was very cheery and wel-coming.
If you want to find out more about volunteering in the local area you can
email Katherine at [email protected].
Theres also the new Glasgow WAVE Volunteer Map. You can find out about different organisations in the local area offering volunteering opportuni-
ties whether youre interested in youth work, environmental projects or community action there'll be something happening that takes your fancy.
