Target Audience(s)

Demographics:Linkedin targets affluent professionals from all over the world, including job seekers and people who just wish to keep in contact with others.

LinkedIn chose to target this audience for several reasons. As the head of online services, such as PayPal, founder Reid Hoffman knew that the online community was growing. He believed a niche community for professionals would be a great idea, especially since the economic downturn of 2002 would bring more job seekers. He merged with other successful online business men to start Linkedin.
