L’impératif
Qu’est-ce que l’impératif?
• The imperative does the same thing in French as it does in English. You use the imperative to give commands or suggestions.
• Ex: Read this book!– Lisez ce livre!
• Ex: Don’t read this book!–Ne lisez pas ce livre!
L’impératif en français
• L’impératif existe en trois formes en français:
TU form VOUS form NOUS form
•Use to give a command to one friend (tu)•Form by taking the Tu form of the verb and drop the « s » of -er verbs
•Use to command more than one person or someone formally•Keep the vous form of the verb the same
•Use to suggest something for a group you are included in.•Keep the nous form of the verb the same

This is the only verb which is an exception to the rule. In the Tu form you add the « s » back on when you say the command vas-y!
QUOI FAIRE AVEC DES VERBES RÉCIPROQUES?
Dans le positif….
• C’est la même chose sauf avec un pronom personnel:
LAVER SE LAVERLavez la voiture!Lave les murs, stp
Lavez-vous les mains!Lave-toi, tu as besoin d’une douche!
• Le pronom est connectez par un tiret au verbe. • Le pronom vient APRÈS le verbe
Dans le négatif….
• C’est la même chose sauf le pronom personnel vient AVANT le verbe:
