I hope that you were able to enjoy the holidays with family and friends. 2018 is already a busy year and in addition to the work I do as a member of the County Commission, I have also been appointed to serve on several boards. I am currently a member of the Capital Region Transportation Planning Agency (CRTPA), the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), the Apalachee Regional Planning Council (ARPC) and the Leon County Research & Development Authority Board of Governors (LCRDA). These boards are important to the community as they provide guidance on issues from transportation planning, community revitalization, regional planning and scientific research and development that helps foster economic development. There are also several statewide and national boards that I've been appointed to through my work with ARPC and the National Association of Counties. Most recently I was asked to serve on a Department of Economic Opportunity workgroup, focused on identifying best practices for apprenticeship programs for youth and other special populations. I will continue to keep you informed about what's happening at your County Commission as well as with the various organizations that we work with on a daily basis. Thank you for staying engaged and I appreciate your support and dedication to making Leon County a wonderful place to live, work and play. If there is ever anything I can help you with, please feel free to call me (850) 606-5375 or just email me at [email protected]. You can also find me on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. P.S.
