SCHOOL NEWS Year 7 Languages Students This week the Languages Department organised a special showing of the film “Petit Nicholas” as a reward for those Year 7 students who had participated in the enthusiastically received Languages Treasure Hunt which was organised to celebrate the European Day of Languages. The film was enjoyed by all who attended. Year 7 students will also be taking part in the national “Modern Languages Spelling Bee” competition for the duration of the year with the most talented students going through to the Regional Finals in the Spring Term 2017. Football Match Results St Aloysious School v Kingsdale School Year 11 Boys - Inner London Cup A great start to the Season with a win over St Aloysious School in the Inner London Cup. Excellent Performance from all involved, with discipline on and off the pitch led by our Captain Malachi McEvoy. Man of the Match - Aurel Paja St Aloysious 2 - Kingsdale 6 Stoke Newington School v Kingsdale School Year 7 Boys - Inner London Cup A strong win in the Inner London Cup on a freezing Hackney Marshes, the boys came flying out the blocks throwing everything at Stoke Newington and scoring within minutes. Man of the match - Santiago Gutierrez Stoke Newington 1 - Kingsdale 3 Glyn School v Kingsdale School Year 8 Boys Team A An excellent performance all round. Glyn School had a few good players making it a difficult game. However after an unsettling start Kingsdale triumphed! For technical queries please contact Ms Cowling via extension 734. Please remember that additional sessions will be taking place later in the academic year and will be advertised in due course. Anti-Bullying Week National Anti-Bullying week will --be taking place this week with -- -- -a raft of activities to enable ---- --our students to reflect on -------- --positive and inclusive -------------- --relationships in our community. Zoe Ukuejuobola in Year 10 is the school’s lead Anti- bullying Representative, who has been organising assemblies for each year and activities for her peers taking place next week. Attached is a document regarding Cyber Bullying which we would ask parents to take time to discuss with their child/ren to help raise awareness in this area and reinforce the week’s activities. Chess Tournament Last week Year 7 played against Sixth Form students in a friendly special Speed Chess game. We would like to congratulate all of the students who took part in this light-hearted game. The experience has now inspired chess enthusiasts to organise a tournament at the school. Look out for details to follow shortly. We have some outstanding chess players in the Sixth Form and will be offering prizes to students who can beat them!
