Makeover Takeover

Kerrismatic: Thank you so much for joining us today, I’ve wanted to meet you for a long time. Ever since you burst on the scene, in fact. What is it that makes your styles so legendary?JK: Well, I think it’s because I’m honest. I never let a friend or foe tell me something about my work before I do. Successful people, truly successful people, know that they have to be their own worst critic, or best critic for that matter. Without honesty, your work is a lie. Lies are jokes. And I take this very seriously.Kerrismatic: What is the most difficult assignment you’ve ever had?JK: Probably Angelina Jolie. A.J. and I are close friends and I know her face well, as I’m sure billions of people do, but when I was assigned to be her makeup artist in The Tourist, there was a lot of pressure on me. You can’t mess up her face, but there’s so much potential for beauty in her face that you have to accentuate even the smallest details.Very challenging and easily the most fun I’ve had in my career.Kerrismatic: Thanks so much for your time with us, we appreciate it.JK: Thank you! Your magazine is the most important magazine on my coffee table. The work you do is necessary.

An interview with the best in the business, Jazz Kash.

Weston CarterWeston Carter

This past saturday I was able to catch up with soon to be cloth-ing designer, Weston Carter. Native from my own beloved hometown, California, the young and ambi-tious 19 year old does not seem to hesitate on dreaming big. Ive got an interview and a sneak preview of the upcoming trends he is soon to put on the market!

Q: So Mr. Carter, for the up and coming line the curiosity starts with what will you be calling your line?A: K.I.Denim Q: Who is your target consum-ers and why?A: I am ideally aiming to market teens and young adults, ideally catch the attention of skaters like myself.Q: At such a young age, how did you gain experience as a de-signer?A: After working at Levi’s, I gained experience and was able to immerse myself into the de-signer world, along with current-ly doing undergrad at FIDM.

Well that will conclude our inter-view we don’t want to give too much away, but everybody keep an eye open for K.I.Denim in Spring ‘12!

Enhance your eyes You wouldn’t change anything about your beautiful eyes. But you can make them shine even brighter. Lightening up your look takes less than four steps. These secret tips will make your peepers pop so pretty, those other girls won’t stand a chance.

secret 1(Blending): You use three different colors: The base, usually a very light taupe, a highlighter for the crease and a main color for the lid. Start light then go darker. Brush the base color to the entire eye up to the brow bone (base is the light-est color), apply the lid color (the medium color) and THEN apply the highlighter (the darkest color)

secret 2 (color): Surprisingly enough, most of you will be fine with using a shadow that goes with your eye color, which will bring out the pop they need!.Secret 3 (White eyeliner): A dot of white shadow or pencil on the inside of the eye near the tear duct will make eyes look brighter. You won’t believe how eye-opening this is.secret 4 (lining): While loving eyeliner for its simple duty of adding a dark mystery to your eyes, many overlook its other talent which is changing the shape of the eye, with top eyeliner you have the power to make your eyes bigger, smaller, and more almond-shaped!
