PRSIDENT’S REPORT
Another year come and gone. Has everyone done their New Year's Resolution yet? If not, maybe you should! I know what I want - our Branch Trusteeship completed and the forming of an accomplished Building Committee to start discussions around what a new building would look like for Branch 91 members.
Please don't think we take it easy now. Things have gone so well for us over the last year but each year it only gets hard-er. We need more and more of your support helping in differ-ent areas of the Branch. Your Executive can't do it alone - they need you, the members, to help also. If you have time over the next year please step up and support your Branch.
Now, for those members who have not been paying their dues because they feel they can just come into the Branch and use the facilities without a current membership.
What is a member in good standing: A member in good standing: has been initiated, is not under suspension; has paid membership dues for the current year; and whose per capita tax has been submitted to Dominion Command.
I apologize if I sound a bit aggressive in my tone, but over the last few years our membership base has dropped and we are losing members . The above has a lot to do with it. My question to you is why?
Okay! I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year and hope you come and support the Branch as you have in the past. If there are things you see that might help us improve please do not hesitate to talk to myself or an Executive member so we can be successful.
Go Team! Norm Scott

CHAPLAIN’S CORNER
Wishing you a Blessed New Year and trusting that you have enjoyed a great festive season. Oftentimes we are discouraged and our spirits are deflated when we see everyone else having a good time. Why only them? What did I do to be lonely and afraid? The Lighthouse Seafarer's handbook is designed to encourage lonely sailors at sea. It teaches knots, has a world map, as well as a section entitled “5 minutes for life” as well as the new testament. Briefly it teaches the ABC of salvation.. Admit – that we are sinners, and need a Savior. Believe – God's word and His provision. Commit – Our lives to God's son, Jesus Christ. We are then encouraged to read God's word and attend a Bible-believing church or believer's group. May you live with a heavenly Hope in 2016

HONOURS & AWARDS DECEMBER 2015
This month all of the Executive recognize and thank all of the hard work and personal time sacrifices of our many volunteers. Over the past couple of months we collected our member’s ballots for the Branch #91 Volunteer of the Year Award. Our committee sorted the ballots and there were several members who each had multiple votes for them. Two individual members received more than the others and they were both recognized with a presentation at our December 22nd General Meeting. They are Jeannine Caspersen and Jack Detlor. Jack Detlor was presented with the 2015 Volunteer of the Year Award (The Busy Bee Award) at the same meeting. Please pass on your appreciation to all of our volunteers. We also recognized our Executive members as follows. Past Office Medals to Cdes. Bruce Ralph, Grant Vandale and Maureen Nicholls. Applicable Bars for medals as follows; 2nd Vice President to Richard Walker, Executive Bars to Bruce Ralph and Grant Vandale as well as Poppy Bar to Maureen Nichols. We wish you all a merry Christmas!
Brian Shackleton
