Morgan-Scott CEOMorgan-Scott CEO students celebrated the opening of their annual trade show on May 7 with a ribbon cutting. The students showcased the businesses they created during their year-long CEO class. Morgan-Scott CEO is a program open to high school seniors from school in the two countries. Pam Martin has received a $2,500 grant through America’s Farmers Grow Communities, sponsored by the Bayer Fund. She will use the funds to support an initiative of the Passavant Area Hospital Foun-dation to provide training for volunteer emergen-cy medical services (EMS). Pam Martin, executive director of the Passavant Foundation, and her hus-band Gary operate M & G Farms in rural Morgan County.

Jubilee Habitat for Humanity broke ground on its newest home in Jacksonville on May 4. This is the 24th home built by Habitat in Jacksonville. Upon completion, the house will be sold to Krista Reese. Area residents will be able to donate to and volun-teer at the project this spring, summer and fall. Passavant Recognized a Number of Employees this past month. Becky Houseman is the April Em-ployee of the Month. She is a BSN, RN in Three South and was nominated by the family of a grateful patient. Jacob Daniels is the recipient of the Daisy Award. Daniels is an AND, RN in the ICCU. The Daisy award is given to a nurse who consistently

demonstrates excellence through clinical expertise and extraordinary, compassionate care. He, too, was nominated by a grateful family. Jessica Ford, BSN, RN; Karoline Myers and Heather Sullivan all received the Patriot Award from the Employer Sup-port division of the National Guard and Reserve. The award is given to a supervisor or manager who makes special effort to support a working National Guard member. Tamera Norton, BSN, RN, Tran-sitional Care and a sergeant in the Army National Guard nominated the trio.

Buchheit of Jacksonville raised $102 for the Jack-sonville FFA chapter through a company-wide FFA promotion run during February. The money raised goes toward supporting FFA members and ag education. The entire company donated a total of $3,468 to local FFA chapters in their service areas.

Safeco Bakery is now providing delicious products and service to the patrons of Ground Central at Passavant Area Hospital. Their hours of service are 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays. Employees and visitors will be able to enjoy the pastries, donuts, cookies, coffees and juices offered.

Jacksonville Rotary 4th of July Parade “Indepen-dence Day, the Rotary Way: One Big Family” is accepting entries for the 2019 parade to be held on July 4 at 10 a.m. from the corner of West State Street and Sandusky traveling east on State to the Square and around to end on North Main Street.
