Location HighlightsPalatka, FLPalatka is a city known for its local festivals including the Florida Azalea Festival and the Blue Crab Festival. The city is home to the unique landscapes of the Ravine Gardens State Park which is famous for its thousands of azaleas and other sub-tropical plants. The late 1800s marked the golden age of Palatka which was a time when the city rivaled Jacksonville as the major port on the St. Johns River.

Participate in a private charter on the St. John’s River Eco-Cruise. During the tour, enjoy an interactive narration of local and river history along with illustrated accounts of numerous bird species, alligators and additional regional wildlife. Ocala National Forest Lake George, FLYou’ll continue your journey as you cruise the St. Johns River to Lake George, which is bordered on the west bank by the Ocala National Forest. Ocala is the second largest National Forest in Florida and the oldest national forest east of the Mississippi River. Lake George is the second-largest freshwater lake (only Lake Okeechobee is bigger) in Florida and the largest along the St. Johns River. The lake hosts a wide variety of wildlife ranging from migratory water birds and alligators to a number of marine animals.

Green Cove Springs, FLGreen Cove Springs attracted a surge of vacationers from the north, drawn to the warm mineral springs reputed to have medicinal qualities and healing powers. Steamboat services brought the elite, including President Abraham Lincoln, noted showman P.T. Barnum and President Grover Cleveland, searching for a warm retreat from the winter’s harsh climate. Visitors can also explore the historic district, known as the Historic Triangle, which includes historic homes, a courthouse and a very unique restored theater.

As you walk with a narrator, you will see native and naturalized flora, cross the foot bridge and stroll by “Spring Run” to the city’s historic spring. Sightseeing attractions include the location of the notable “Water Cure” business, the famous Qui Si Sana Hotel once owned by

J.C. Penney, the Palace Opera House & Motion Picture Show, the 1st Florida Federated Women’s Club and many private homes and churches.

St. Augustine, FLEstablished in 1565, St. Augustine is recognized as America’s oldest surviving European settlement. In the late 1800s, oil millionaire, Henry Flagler, built a number of elegant hotels and churches in this city in an attempt to fulfill his vision of establishing an American Riviera. Flagler’s legacy remains, and his buildings grace St. Augustine as both monuments to early American opulence and examples of architectural ingenuity.

On this narrated tram tour, explore historic ruins, unique architecture and the narrowed streets of a city once used as a remote outpost of the Spanish Empire. Learn about the land of Ponce de Leon and Pedro Menendez. Alligator Farm and Zoological Park

Channel your inner explorer while browsing through Fernandina Beach’s Historic Centre Street and the Silk Stocking District.

Getting to Jacksonville, FL and the American GloryYour ship will be docked at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

Flying Jacksonville International Airport is the best airport to fly into. The airport is serviced by many airlines and is approximately 20 minutes from the ship when traveling by taxi.

Train Amtrak provides regular train service to the Jacksonville train station. The port is approximately 10 minutes from the station.

Arriving Early? If you arrive the day before your cruise, there are several hotels within a few minutes of the ship. Please ask for the American Cruise Lines rate. Each hotel can arrange for a taxi service to the Charleston City Marina.

Boarding ProcessBoarding the ship takes place between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The ship leaves promptly at 1:30 p.m. (earlier if all passengers are onboard). From the moment you arrive, the American Cruise Lines deckhands will handle everything for you. From helping you with your luggage to assisting you onboard—we will handle everything with care. There are no restrictions on luggage, but it is recommended to bring as few bags as necessary. Suitcases less than 10 inches high may be stowed under your bed.

Cruise ConclusionOn the last day of your cruise, the ship will dock at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 225 East Coastline Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32202. If flying home, we recommend you fly from Jacksonville International Airport. Taxis are typically available at the ship and American Cruise Lines can assist with your travel arrangements.
