ANNO 85 WIRELESS & HYBRID (WIRELESS & WIRED) INTRUDER ALARM SYSTEMS

If you are concerned about the detrimental effect a hard-wired security alarm could have on the aesthetics of your property then our wireless burglar alarm could provide the ideal solution. It also allows for additional alarms to be added to out-buildings such as garages and sheds.

For those looking for a wireless alarm system, our wireless range provides a number of advantages, including a wireless portable panic button and wireless external self actuating siren.

We can supply shock sensors, movement detectors and even acoustic detectors to provide a complete security package. We can also implement an individual key fob system to improve the level of access control you have over your property.

For clients who have existing systems that need to be taken over, we can also provide a hybrid solution of wired and wireless equipment.

All of our security alarm systems can be designed with your specific requirements in mind, while we will also liaise with your insurers to ensure you comply with their expectations. We also put particular emphasis on meeting the current NPCC and European Standards, and the quality of our service has been recognised with the Metropolitan Gold Award for Alarm Performance & by the NSI.

BANHAM AFTER SALES SERVICE

Monitoring Options

Banham provides 24 hour monitoring for all types of alarm systems through our own in-house Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). We monitor systems including Intruder, Fire, CCTV, Panic, Freezer, Medical, Power Failure, Vaults, Opening and Closing Management, Flood Warning, Access Control, Ambient Temperature, Humidity Level, Machinery monitoring, Controlled Environment Monitoring. You can choose your own level of response:

1) Fully Monitored System with keyholder and 24 hour Police response:

If your alarm system is activated and a confirmed signal is received by our ARC (subject to the response level), the Police will be automatically notified and will respond. A confirmed signal means that the system must generate two independent alarm activations before the call can be passed on for a Police Response. Our ARC controllers will contact the premises to verify the activation. If the private passcode for the premises cannot be confirmed within a set time, the Police response will be confirmed to continue. The ARC will also contact keyholders nominated by the client to advise of an alarm activation of any kind.

2) Keyholder Response only:

Clients who do not require Police response but would like the added security of either themselves or their nominated keyholders being contacted following an alarm activation, can have the system more-or-less designed to meet their own requirements, subject to insurer’s approval if necessary. Temporary monitoring is also an option, but is only available through a digital communicator connection. If you are unable to provide private keyholders, Banham can undertake this service through their own professional keyholding company CMS Keyholding. Our team of keyholders on motorbikes are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and are ready to respond to any emergency situation.

3) Keyholder Response with PAB to Police:

Clients who do not want their system fully connected to the Police but who want the extra peace of mind of being able to reach the Police in an absolute emergency can opt to have just their Panic Button connected for a Police response - this option is only available through a Digital Communicator connection. (Note: Banham can also provide ‘bells only systems’ with a Panic Button only to the Police, subject to a telephone line being connected).

AN IMPORTANT FEATURE OF THE INSPECTION IS THE CHECKING OF THE BATTERIES, AND CONTACTS WITHIN THE SYSTEM, WHICH ARE REPLACED AS NECESSARY FREE OF CHARGE.

(EXCLUDING WIRELESS).

THE BANHAM GUARANTEE:Lifetime Guarantee: We offer a lifetime guarantee on any system connected to the Alarm Receiving Centre on a full police monitored contract.

Charges: None of our communication devices utilise premium rate lines.

Technical Support: Technical phone support and remote resets are free for maintained customers.

Annual Routine Maintenance Inspection

All Banham Intruder alarms can be designed to comply with BS 8243:2010, EN50131-1/PD 6662/BS 8263:2010 and the requirements laid down by the National Security Inspectorate (NSI). It may be a requirement of your insurance policy that your system is covered by a routine maintenance contract, for which you may be eligible for a discount on your contents insurance cover. Depending on your requirements, we offer a number of contract options:

1 maintenance visit a year:Systems without remote signalling (bells only) require just one visit.

2 maintenance visits a year:If your system in connected to the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) for Police response, it is a Police and NSI requirement that the system must be subject to two inspection visits per annum. (One can be remote providing the system is not Grade 3).

Automatic Remote Maintenance (ARM)

Using ARM Banham can verify that your entire security system is fully functional providing complete peace of mind in your security arrangements. You can choose one of your two annual inspections to be carried out using ARM. This option is operated in accordance with DD263:2010.

Secure and Convenient ARM enhances your security by constantly checking on the electrical status and functional capability of the alarm system.

Formal reportingAt a preset time, the control panel will call the host server and upload a full report on the status of your system. This report may be printed and copied to you, if required. Regular reporting by your alarm system to Banham takes the inconvenience out of service visits, and ensures the system is always operating at its peak performance level.

Full Signalling and Warning AnalysisThe correct operation of signalling equipment to the Alarm Receiving Centre is reassured along with a full test of the external sounders, initiated by the user.

Latest TechnologyARM software incorporates both BS 8243:2010 and EN 50131-1:2010 PD 6662/ BS 8243:2010 to conform with the current Police and European requirements on false alarm reduction and system design.

Detector performance analysisAll detectors are regularly checked to ensure your complete protection. Regular reminders to walk-test the system are given, which includes an automated system health check.

is available 24 hours a day with attendance within 4 hours if required. All our engineers are equipped with on-board portable computers, which relay real-time information relating to your service requirements. Details of the visit are then instantly relayed back to our control centre.

Optional extended warranty:This contract provides free service for the maintenance of intruder alarm system 24 hours a day, to include parts and labour, and a lifetime guarantee on systems connected to the ARC on a full Police monitored contract (subject to conditions).

What is involved in your maintenance inspection?:Calls are pre-booked by Banham and notified well in advance to give clients the opportunity to contact us, if the pre-arranged date is inconvenient. During the maintenance visit, the intruder alarm is tested to ensure that it is functioning correctly. Any developing fault found would be rectified accordingly at no charge other than for replacement components which areoutside the 12 month guarantee period. Our emergency service department

ALARM RECEIVING CENTRE (ARC)

Communication DevicesChoose what type of communication link your alarm system has to our ARC.Banham provides 24 hour monitoring for all types of alarm systems.

DUV/G Dualcom Vodafone is a dual path communication link between your property and the ARC. The normal landline (any analogue service provider) and also the Vodafone/PAKNET/GPRS radio network combine to provide an increased level ofsecurity. This is actively promoted by both Crime Prevention Officers and insurance companies alike. The unit requires an aerial, the location of which is subject to an engineer site environment test.

DIGIAIR An advanced auto dialling digital communication device for secure alarm reporting. It is supplied as a single path alarm transmission system (ATS) supplied with a world sim card. It eliminates the requirement for a telephone line subject to signal strength.

EM2 EMIZON IP is a dual path alarm signallingservice utilising a broadband connection. EMIZON IP continuously monitors the connection between the intruder alarm and the Alarm Receiving Centre. In the event of the IP network path being compromised either accidentally or deliberately, then signalling will be sent via the wireless GPRS Network.

GPRS Single Path GPRS Communicator utilising a world sim for improved network coverage. Ideal for locations where a PSTN or IP wired infrastructure is not available.

SIA 3

As standard at installation all communications systems are installed with SIA 3 communication protocol which provides an itemised audit trail of events following an activation. This service is free for the first year with continuation subject to client approval thereafter.

DC Digital Communicator is a single pathcommunication link between your property and the ARC, which can utilise any network provider, either an existing standard analogue broadband line or an exclusive dedicated out going only linefor increased security.

CA BT Redcare offers the same features as Digital Communicator but if a line fault occurs, a warning will be displayed in our ARC, which is then subject to Keyholder response only unless preceded by an intruder activation. Please note however that this option can only be used with a BT analogue line.

Clients who do not require Police response but would like the added security and peace of mind of either themselves or their nominated keyholder being contacted following an alarm activation, can have the system more-or-less designed to meet their own requirements, subject to insurer’s approval if necessary. Temporary monitoring is also an option. The Police policy described opposite is therefore not a requirement. For further details of the available options, our security surveyors will be able to advise you.

With monitored systems, the ARC will contact keyholders nominated by the client to advise of an alarm activation of any kind. If you are unable to provide private keyholders, Banham can undertake this service through their wholly owned subsidiary, CMS Keyholding (Tel: 020 7627 0344). CMS provide a team of professional keyholders on motorbikes available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year ready to respond to any emergency situation.

INFORMATION RELATING TO THE DESIGN ANDINSTALLATION OF YOUR INTRUDER ALARM SYSTEM

In an effort to reduce the number of wasted Police visits to sites following false alarms, the National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC) have introduced certain design and operational requirements in order to help relieve Police resources.

In brief, these requirements cover three separate aspects of the intruder alarm, which are as follows:-

Alarm Unsetting

Statistics suggest that 94% of Police visits to site are generated by incorrect operation of the alarm keypad. In order to combat this problem NPCC insist that all systems must be unset via a single action method, such as a keyfob or keyswitch. We recommend the proximity keyfob as being the most user friendly and efficient of the available options. Clients who are unconvinced that this requirement is workable for them and who at point of survey insist upon designing the system for code number operation must understand that:-

A Where an intrusion occurs via a final exit, all means of alarm confirmation will be isolated. This means that the whole property will be vulnerable with the only action available being that of keyholder response.

B Systems of a similar design, but with keyfob operation, will only have entry/exit routes devices disabled. All other devices are then available to provide the first and second activation necessary to support the confirmed alarm signal.

Confirmed Alarm Signals

Since the introduction of the October 2001 NPCC Policy all new intruder alarm systems connected to the ARC must be designed to provide a confirmed alarm signal before the Police will respond.

This means that the system must generate two independent alarm activations before the call can be passed to the Police as a confirmed alarm. Banham achieve a confirmed alarm signal by using a sequential format i.e. two devices activating in sequence. We find this to be the most user friendly means of conforming with the NPCC Policy BS 8243:2010.

Compliance with the NPCC Policy BS 8243:2010

Police Response to Intruder Alarms

NPCC categorise all monitored intruder alarms into the following response levels:-

Immediate Response.

The Police will attend on the assumption that an offence is taking place, but against a background of competing urgent calls and available Police resources.

No Police attendance.

Following two false Hold up / Panic Alarms or three false confirmed Intruder Alarms within a 12 month period, the occupier will be advised by the Police that the system will have response withdrawn to this particular signal (Hold up / Panic or Intruder Alarm). Response will be reinstated once the following conditions have been met.

The Police will require a written application from Banham Alarms supported by evidence that the system has been free of false alarms for three (3) months, and the cause of the false alarms has been rectified.

As an alternative to the lack of Police response and subject to approval by insurers, it is possible to employ a professional keyholding company in the event of alarm activations and in the absence of Police response. For further details please contact our subsidiary company, CMS Keyholding on 020 7627 0344. They can offer a guaranteed response with the added peace of mind that whatever the circumstances on site, their Key Guard will co-ordinate matters and ensure the continued security of the premises.

NPCC demand that a site safety hazard letter is signed and returned by the client advising them of any known or potential site hazards which may endanger the safety of any officers who attend site. Application for a Unique Reference Number (URN) will begin once this has been received together with payment of the Police charge.

From 1st June 2012, systems that require NSI Certification must be designed and installed to comply with

BS 8243:2010 EN 50131-1:2010/PD 6662. This will include the requirement for an insurance risk assessment to be

undertaken, which will assist in determining the grade of the system and equipment required for the premises.

Compliance with European Standards EN 50131-1:2010/PD 6662

(BS 8243:2010) (DD263:2010)

(BS 8243:2010 Released 2010 implemented in July 2012)

For 8 consecutive years Banham have been awarded the coveted Metropolitan Police Gold & Silver Awards for the low number of false Police activations, highlighting the quality of our installations.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES:The Banham Group understand the importance of sustainability & protecting the environment. All Banham Group companies are committed to

ensuring that their operational and business responsibilities are in compliance with current British & EU legislation, including the safe dismantling & disposal of equipment such as batteries.
