Unit 2Media Production Outcome 1On completion of this unit the student should be able to demonstrate specialist production skills within collaborative media productions, and explain and reflect on the media production process.

Media industry productionOutcome 2On completion of this unit the student should be able to discuss media industry issues and developments relating to the production stages of a media product, and describe specialist roles within the media industry.

Australian media organisationsOutcome 3On completion of this unit the student should be able to describe characteristics of Australian media organisations and discuss the social, cultural and industrial framework within which such organisations operate.

Production: Sample

The Production Process (Outcomes 1 and 2)The production of any Media Product has three stages:Pre Production: this involves the conception of ideas, developing of ideas, planning of the product, organising the logistics of creation, obtaining funding etc. Production: this involves the creation of the product. Post production: once a product is created, it needs to be edited and disseminated to an audience.

Outcome 1&2 will be linked togetherYoull work in a group to complete a production (Outcome 1)Each person must take on 2 production rolls (Outcome 1)You will do a research report into what those jobs entail in a real production (Outcome 2)You will create two portfolio entries or video diaries outlining some of the tasks that you have completed for your product (Outcome 1 & 2)You will complete an evaluation of the production process and your success in your roles (Outcome 1)
