Vidya-mitra is an online learning portal for all the e-content projects developed under the NME-ICT (National

Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology), MHRD. The portal facilitates searching

and browsing of all content hosted on a platform wherein a learner can easily access the desired material including

audio/video learning material, textual material, multimedia-enriched materials, etc. through a single interface.

Moreover, features of faceted search, My-Space and usage statistics, project-wise access are also incorporated in

this portal.

Vidya-mitra is one of largest open repository for learning across the globe. It is awarded OER Repository Award 2018

for Open Education Excellence by Open Education Consortium. Repository has more than 66,000 video content /

modules. Details are as follow:

Vidya-Mitra: Search-Browse Interface

The portal facilitates the following features:

Free-text search across all the title of e-modules including

video/text/assessment etc;

Faceted search and filter by level of courses (UG/PG/etc., subject

domain, project based, institute type;

Browse by course and project;

My-Space/user’s Registration which provides personalized service

i.e.- View my profile, My subjects, My collection, Notification, and

contribute your content in the repository; and

Suggested / recommended reading material on basis of your search.

Mobile App

The Centre has developed a Mobile-App for

Vidya-mitra: Integrated e-Content Portal

for Android and Apple. It is freely available

in Google Play Store and App Store.

The metadata capture system displaying the list of projects, no. of titles etc with an action button. The major features of this system are:

Create metadata for the project content;

Uploading/editing content; and

Detail of uploaded document quadrant wise.

The VPMS admin panel displays the list of projects ingested, yet to be ingested, awaiting ingestion into vidya-mitra, no. of titles etc. The major features of this system are:

Add new project detail and update the old one;

Define and create users, their permission and roles;

Subject mapping; and

Metadata users logs.
