The Nature of Wood
The wood provided for your garden building is soft wood which has been kiln dried and is pressure treated for
protection against rot and insect infestation. Wood is a natural product which may have knots, knot holes,
imperfections, cracks and warping.
Due to the inherent properties of wood we make no guarantees with regards to the above, nor will replace any
lengths of timber for any of the following reasons:
* Any timber that contains knots where they do not influence the structural stability of the product.
* Cosmetic appearances - colour variations e.g. caused by the structure or age of the timber.
* Timber that has shakes, cracks or gaps that do not influence the structural strength of the product.
* Any timber that has been covered or buried underground.
* Twisted timber that can be installed.
* Queries arising from a neglectful manner of construction be in foundational or erection of the product.
* Queries due to modifications by the owner causing timber to deform.
Any valid queries will be satisfied by the exchange or replacement of the defective parts only.
Your Gazebo has been designed with self build in mind. However, it is important that the assembly instructions
are followed carefully.
Precautions:
*Always use working gloves.
*It is essential to have an assistant.
*All screw holes need to be pre-drilled using a 3mm drill bit (not provided) to avoid timber splitting.
If your gazebo is pressure treated then you will not need to treat it immediately or apply a preservative.
Pressure treatment does not mean that the timbers are waterproof, so you may wish to apply a water repellent.
Water repellent can also be applied to timbers treated with a preservative.
Colour Transfer
This product has been pressure treated with wood preservative and a brown colour additive. Consideration
should be given to the propensity of the material to stain light coloured adjacent surfaces, such as paving flags,
render or coated timber surfaces. We recommend contact between the timber and these surfaces is limited, and
careful consideration to storing the product prior to assembly should be taken in order to prevent such
discolouration.

Take off the beading trims from one side of the 'CP8' glass panel frames.
Position them on the top of the '105x20x900' sills so that these are flush with 'CP2' panels. Join the frames to each other
and the support posts using 2x 60mm screws per side. You will also need to screw these down into the '105x20x900' sills
using 2x 60mm screws per section.
Put the glass panes into the frames and secure by fixing the beading trims back.

1) All installations where we supply the felt and where we carry out the installation should have a membrane fitted to the roof underneath the felt. Fully cover the roof boards with the plastic waterproof membrane, then use a staple gun to staple to the edge of the roof boards.2) Starting at the lowest edge of the roof, lay the felt horizontally across the roof boards (Fig. 1). Overlap by 200mm if you need to connect two rolls of felt. If you have bought a product with hip or hexagonal style roof, cut felt at an angle alongside the ridge (Fig. 6). Overhang feltat the bottom of the roof by approximately 30mm (Fig. 9). Nail at approximately 200mm centers.3) Continue laying down the next layers of the felt and nail into the roof board at 200mm per metre horizontally and 300 mm per metre vertically. Overlap the adjoining layer by 200mm. Seal the joints using felt glue. Join the layers and nail theedges. (Fig. 2 &4 & 7).4) When the felt has reached the ridge, fold over a length of felt to cover both sides of the upper layers by 200mm or more, seal the joints and nail together. Nail the felt on each side of the ridge. (See Fig. 3 & 5). For a product with hip orhexagonal style roof cut a length of the felt in half and nail alongside of the ridge overlapping by approx. 250mm. Then cut and attach small cut out of felt on the topcovering all joints between ridge felt stripes (Fig. 8). Trim as required, should you wish.
Silicone, roof membrane or felt glue are not supplied.

Shingles (15-20mm overhang)
Roof membrane (5mm overhang)
Please ignore the instructions of the shingle packs, please follow these instructions. Please be careful of the length of the clout nails. In any large batch, occasionally miss-sized nails can be present. Please check for these as oversized nails may protrude through the underside of the roof boards.
1. If you have bought roof membrane first fully cover the roof boards using this roof membrane. We suggest to fix it using a stapler.2. If your shingles have a peelable plastic backing remove this before installing them to the roof.3. Starting on the lowest edge of the roof, place a row of shingles over the top of the roof membrane, if you have purchased this, with the slots/hexagons running upwards and the black edge of the shingle overhanging the roof by 15-20mm and nail along the bottom edge of the tile using 4 nails supplied. Carefully trim off any excess at the end of the row and keep any full 'tongues' (fig. 10 and 11).4. Lay a second layer of shingles on top of the first row. This time rotate the shingles 180° so that the slots/hexagons are running downwards. Each row of shingles needs to be offset so cut the first strip into the half. Nail through the center band of the tile using 4 nails supplied (fig. 12).5. Lay the next row of shingles with the slots/hexagons in the downwards position, off setting the tiles by half a segment. Secure by nailing through the centre band (fig. 13).6. Continue to lay shingles in rows off-set and overlapping each row until you have reached the ridge. (Use the off cuts to fill in the spaces at the beginning and end of the rows).7. Repeat steps 1-6 on the other section of the roof.8. Cut the shingles into three segments and taper the adhesive edge (fig. 14 and 15). Rotate 90°, gently bend over the ridge and secure on position with nails at the opposite end of the roof from the prevailing wind.9. The adhesive layer on the back of the shingles should stick the shingles together in warm sunlight.

For each roof panel mark out a line through the middle from the top to the bottom edge. Fix the shingles from this line towards the sides; when you meet the roof ridge cut the shingles at an angle to suit the shape of each roof section. Please refer to the instructions given for the chalet style roof for further information of how to install the shingles.

Guttering assembly instructionsPredrill for all screws to avoid splitting the timber.
Fix the support brackets to the eaves egding (purlin, wall) using two screws per bracket. The outermost brackets should be positioned approximately 200mm from the ends of the roof (Fig. 16).
Connect the stop end outlet to one end of the gutter section and connect a gutter union to the other. Click the gutter into thesupport bracket nearest water butt location and position the stop end outlet so that it is flush with the end of the roof. (Note -Water butt can be fitted at either end of the building). Fix the gutter union to the eaves edging (purlin, wall) with one screw, ensuring that 1 degree of fall towards the water butt is achieved to allow drainage. Connect the next gutter section to the second union and click this assembly into the first union and screw to the eaves edging (Fig. 18). Between the two gutter unions, position centrally a support bracket, mark with a pencil, and fix, after removing the gutter to gain access. Continue adding gutter sections depending on the length of the roof repeating the previous steps and finish off by connecting the stop end to the last section of gutter (which may need to be trimmed to the correct length). The stop end (Fig. 17) should finish approximately flush with the end of the roof.
Click into position
Connect the downpipe to the stop end outlet (Fig. 19) and at the same time position the water butt with stand into its rough location. Mark and trim the downpipe so it engages into the water butt by about 150mm. Note - the hole in the lid of the water butt needs to be cut out to suit the diameter of the downpipe. Once you are happy with the final location, screw the downpipe support bracket to the support arm (not supplied). Repeat all steps and assemble the second section of the guttering on the other side of the building. Page G1
