Etiquette and Rules Information

Memberships are not required when using municipal road allowances such as Dunbar Road, Bates Road, Pratt Road or the east-west sections of Morris and Huckleberry Roads.

Off-Road Vehicle Trails

• Respect the Forest’s neighbours, otherusers and wildlife. Keep the sound ofyour machine to a minimum.

• When you encounter horseback riders,

rider’s instructions.

• Only use designated trails(follow signage and map).

• Avoid wet/muddy areas when possible,but please stay on trail.

• Use of hill-climbs, mud holes and sandopenings is prohibited.

• Motorized trail uses other thansnowmobiling are prohibited betweenNovember 1st and May 15th.

Northumberland County Forest’s off-road recreational trail system is a mix of forest roads, double-track and, for off-road motorcycles, single-track trails. All motorized trails are shared with non-motorized users.

ATV and Off-Road Motorcyclists must have a membership with our partner organizations, the Northumberland and District ATV Riders or the Northumberland Trail Riders/Ontario Federation of Trail Riders (County By-law 21-10).
