The immense musical talent of IndianOil Refineries’ family members, discerning judges and an appreciative audience created the perfect ambience for the grand finale of the second season of ‘IndianOil Idol’ for Refineries Division as evening descended on August 22, 2011............................................................................................

TheThe popular event held across the Refineries Divisions as part of employee engagement initiative ‘Abhiyan Abhivyakti’ witnessed a packed house in IndianOil Nagar, Noida cheering for the finalists contesting in three categories of Employees, Dependents above 15 years of age and Children in the age group of 15 years and below. Belonging to various refinery locations and Refineries HQs /Corporate Office, the nine finalists enthralled the audience and the judgesjudges alike with their range of songs and musical acumen.

The musical show was judged by eminent playback singer and per-former Mr Vinod Rathore, music composer and Sangeet Natak Academy winner Mr Kajal Ghosh and singer Mr Devashish Chakraborty who were accorded a warm welcopme by Mr R KGhosh....................................................................................

The evening was graced by the presence of Chairman IndianOil Mr R S Butola, Director (Refineries) Mr B N Bankspaur, Director (HR) Mr Sudhir Bhalla, Mr R K Ghosh, Director- Refineries(designate) and senior executives..........................................................................................

AsAs the evening drew to a close Master Kaustav Acharjee, (Children’scategory) son of Mr Swarup Acharjee, COIS, Gurgaon, Miss Natasha Boruah, (Dependent category) daughter of Mr P JBoruah, Digboiand Mr Abhinava Choudhury, (Employee category) MLE, Haldia Refinery were crowned winners by Mr B N Bankapur, Mr Sudhir Bhalla and Mr R K Ghosh. .............................

InIn the Children’s category, Master Spandan Dutta (son of Mr P K Dutta, Panipat) and Miss Debangana Bhattacharjee got the second and third prizes. In the Dependent category, Master Harshajit Roy (son of Mr K K Roy, Bongaigaon Refinery) were given the secong and third prizes while Mr S Behera, SFM, PDRP and Mrs Rumi Kalita, CM (Contracts), Digboi refinery bagged the second and third positions respectively.......................................................................

SpeakingSpeaking on the occasion, Chairman Mr R S Butola appreciated the initiative and hoped that IndianOil Idol would be an annual event bringing fostering a sense of togetherness among the IOCians working in various locations and their families.....................................

DirectorDirector (Refineries) Mr B N Bankapur also addressed the gathering and expressed happiness at the encouraging response generated by the event and Abhiyan Abhivyakti. He also displayed his musical side and presented a song on the occasion.....................................

EarlieEarlier, Mr Lee Bee Sen, welcomed the gathering and the partici-pants from various refinery Units and locations and gave a back-ground of the Abhiyan Abhivyakti initiatives undertaken by the Refineries Division...................................................................................... .. ...................................... ..
