There has been so much going on, it is hard to figure out which direction is up. Let's start with Lost Lake, a beautiful camp. We have so many things going on there. We are currently finishing off the new Ranger Workshop. Other items on our list include building a new shot gun range, an archery pavilion, two new High Adventure Cabins, a greenhouse, and much more! Keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates, or better yet come on out to camp and give a hand in building a legacy to our future. For our High Adventure Program, we are piloting a winter program this coming season. We still have room for this summer for interested units and we are taking reservations for 2017 and 2018. Our newest addition to the program is a 2008 Chevy 15 passenger van, paid in full. We are moving our Base's Headquarters out to Lost Lake, and constructing new buildings for the program. This year, we are welcoming Kindergarteners into our Cub Scout program as Lions. As a pilot Council, we are very excited about this opportunity to bring Scouting to more youth and at an earlier age. We have welcomed a new Venturing Crew in Fort Yukon, with a number of other new units in the works. We have grown our Commissioner Staff and District Committees and have welcomed new members to our Board. If you are interested in joining a particular committee or the Commissioner Staff, call the Council Service Center at 452-1976 and we'll steer you in the right direction. Boy Scouts is a volunteer organization and we want you involved. Financially, we are adding to our Net Assets, growing our endowment, and constructing buildings without incurring debt. Your support is greatly appreciated and we want you to know how your money is being used. A very exciting time indeed. Stephen Smith Scout Executive Midnight Sun Council
