the difficult words.o Students will pair up and practice their fluency with another student and teacher will

monitor students’ progress.o Each student will get a part to read for the podcast.o After all students have recorded their section it will then be checked over by the teacher.o When it is checked, it will be posted to the sight that is chosen by the teacher for students

Lesson using Podcasts for Writing

Objective: Students will be able to listen to what they have written, think about what they have written, and fix errors in their writing.

Grades 2nd-8th

o Teacher gives students a writing prompt. o Students will go through the writing process that they use with their teacher.o After the whole writing process in the primary grades the teacher will read the students

writing into the podcast exactly how it is written. o Students can listen to what they have written and make changes from there.o Students in upper elementary can read another student’s paper as it is written and make

changes as needed.o As students are listening to their story read by the teacher or a peer, they will be thinking

about these questions: Does my story flow? Does it make sense? Does it sound like I thought I had written it? Would I have read it the same way? Can punctuation help? Did misspellings or wording change my meanings?

o Depending on your class, the teacher would adapt this lesson to fit the needs of the students.
